CD2 - Cycle #10

So its double figures on the number of cycles we've been TTC, that sucks. Althought there are other ladies on here in JM-land who have been trying for a lot longer, this still sucks for us right now. I honestly never thought this would take so long, like most people I guess.

Silly things have annoyed me this weekend, mostly due to AF's early arrival - I was reading a book yesterday called the apothecarys daughter, very good book but one thing really irked me. the main character BD'd ONCE with her husband and got pregnant. He was a real piece of work too. HOW UNFAIR! this really annoyed me, usually I'd be like, pah its a book. but its now more like

so cycle wise, im on CD2, not sure what happened last cycle so i'll chalk it down to a crappy stressy month changing jobs and hope this next one is better! Carrying on with the following:

EPO
grapefruit juice
folic acid
preseed
pineapple core
lemon juice

(reading this makes me think that at least if im not getting preggo im eating plenty towards my 5 a day )

not sure what else we might try, I guess it depends on what my blood work says when i get the results. I had my 7DPO bloodwork done last monday and since AF showed I get to have my other bloodwork done tomorrow. The GP said it can take a couple of weeks for the results to come through and that if I didnt hear from them to assume all is A-OK however he also said I was welcome to call and get the results either way if I wanted to - LOVE HIM!

Also on my to-do list this week is to book my SO an appt with the GP so he can make arrangements to have an SA done. I am so with my SO for agreeing to do this!

So everyone for a 2013 baby, and I'll send over some 2013 baby dust to you all in return

Im still waiting on my blood work results but will hopefully be able to get them this next week, my GP said a couple of them can take a couple of weeks to do so I thought id give em plenty of time for the results to all be back before asking. Also rob has made the appt for his SA this morning, its on Friday 18th May, not long to wait! he's been told it could take 1-2 weeks for the results to come back so hopefully by the end of the month we'll have all the information. Cant wait!

I cant remember if I mentioned it but one of my friends from work had her baby this week, she had a little girl who was born at 3.30pm on wednesday and was 9lb 6oz, I went to see her and her mum C yesterday, she is sooo cute ! She is really alert already and has masses of black hair! C and her partner still havent decided on a name so for the time being, baby is being called baby or Marlon (C's partner rekons baby looks like Marlon Brando, shes promised that baby will NOT be having this as a name ). C's older daughter, who is 5, has suggested a few names but they all tend to be names of her favourite friends at school bless her!

not upto much this weekend, ive done a bit of spring cleaning this morning, upstairs and the kitchen done so far! cant beat the smell of 'clean' and having the windows open, even if it is a little cold

robs out for most of the day today playing hockey with some of guys he went to university with so im on my own for tea, wondering if i should treat myself to crispy duck and pancakes...

anyway nothing much else going on, cycle wise this is very much the boring part of the month waiting to O

Aww! for your friend! That's so cute that her daughter wants to name her after her little friends!! I hope they find the perfect name for their new little girl!!

YAY for Rob's S/A being so soon!! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for great results!!

on starting the spring cleaning. I totally need to do it, but I haven't gotten my butt in gear. You're right though... there's nothing better than the smell of "clean" and fresh air blowing through the windows!

Hey Jen...so sorry I haven't been in here in a while...I'm usually better than that, but then again, you know it's just been a crazy time here lately!

That is adorable about your friend so so cute! And double for the SA! Here's hoping for great results!

We started our spring cleaning a few weeks ago, and focused on ridding our closets of clothes...we are slowly moving through the rest of the house, but I agree, though it's rough work sometimes, it's the best feeling when it's done!

Congrats for your friend! That's a big baby .

Yay for DH's SA and the 18th will be here before you know it!

Spring cleaning is definitely a chore but once it's down, it's worth the time spent doing it. Today I started with my spring cleaning. I started in the Kitchen, starting with cleaning out the cabinets and reorganizing them... it was for much needed.

I hope you O soon!

CD13

This first bit is going to be a bit so if your eating or something you may wana skip to paragraph 2! I went to the bathroom earlier and noticed that I had a ton of EWCM, literally it was hanging down from me (sounds gross i know) and when i checked my CP I got loads on my fingertip, i have never seen so much in my life. I was so tempted to take a photo but i thought that would be REALLY TMI! apologies for this but i wanted to vent my excitedness! and also my confusion as its only CD13?? im now holding my pee for a bit so I can do an OPK, I wouldnt normally start doing OPk until CD15/16 but Im going to do one this evening just to be sure. If its even close to positive im goign to get some BDng in tonight!

Back to none TMI stuff - had a great day at work today, chaperoned my second inspection, this one to a domiciliary care service. the manager/owner was so nervous when we turned up and was kinda the same way all day. the service turned out to be really good though so the inspection went well. Im looking forward to doing some more the next few weeks!

I'm off to the hospital with my SO in the morning, he found a mole at the top of his leg near his groin the other week which looked a bit odd so when he went to see the GP about the SA he also mentioned this mole and the GP has referred him to the dermatologist to get it checked out. Im sure its going to be nothing but I woudl be grateful if you sent some positive thoughts his way tomorrow morning. both him and I are a bit worried about it but hoping it will be nothing but an odd looking mole!

First off, holy EWCM! I had that same thing happen for the first time ever this cycle...I know it was all the meds that brought it on, but still it was crazy. I wasn't kidding when I said it would probably fill up an egg shell

Sending good thoughts to SO for his appt. About 10 years ago I had one of those suspicious moles, and my doc recommended I have a bunch removed, just in case, and since ever since I was a toddler, I've been a sun worshipper. Everything came out fine with me, as I'm sure it will with SO.

Glad you had a great day at work!

I don't think I have ever had that much EWCM!

I hope your SO's mole ends up to be nothing.

3dpo

Yep, 3DPO, FF confirmed this morning - looking where its put my coverline, I didnt have a massive temp rise this month...hmmm..this makes me wonder after my conversation with my GP this morning about my bloodwork (see further below).

Rob's appointment with the dermatologist on Friday went fine, he was in and out in 5 minutes, the Doc had a look at the mole in question under a microscope (this is what rob described it as anyway lol) and then also had a look at the others on his back etc - rob has always had a fair few moles. the Doc said he wasnt worried about any of them and discharge him! So im happy about that, phew!

Ive had a fairly quiet weekend as Rob was on a stag do friday night and all day saturday, his friend is getting married on June 29th.

As I mentioned above, I managed to speak to my GP this morning about my bloodwork which I had done last cycle - honestly it has worried me a bit but Im trying not to get too worked up about it as nothing is going to be done anytime soon. I just need to get my bloods redone which annoyingly isnt going to happen this cycle as im going to be away for work at 6DPO.

Here is what I wrote on the main board re my conversation with my GP (ive copied and pasted rather than re-typing):

So i have been able to discuss my bloodwork results with my GP this morning, he said they were all fine apart from my Progesterone. This was tested at 6DPO (i.e. 7 days before AF due on 13DPO), he said the number came back at 14 which would indicate that i maybe didnt ovulate. he says as a rule of thumb:
over 28 - indicates ovulation
16 - 28 - possible ovulation
under 16 - no ovulation

So...he said possibly I had an annovulatory cycle last month, the blood test was not quite right, or im not getting the rise in progesterone which you would expect post O.

The plan is for me to have another blood test at 6DPO and go from there. he says he is hopeful that this months numbers will come back normal (i think hes pretty convinced last month was a one off - possibly annovulatory).

If the numbers still dont come back at a good level, he has said its something that I would need referring to a specialist for, i.e. it isnt something he can do anything for in Primary Care. Whether this means I need to wait until July (12 months of TTC) im not sure at this point but even if it is its not that far away really.

What surprised me is that he asked how I was tracking ovulation, I explained re CM and OPK's but didnt mention BBT as far as I can tell, Dr's arent always supportive of this. but he asked whether I was tracking my BBT!! I explained I was, but that it wasnt always reliable as im not a great sleeper, however between those 3 things Im fairly confident about when I ovulate, and he agreed that was reasonable.

I need to go and pick up the blood test request from his office and go get that done at some point, annoyingly im not going to be able to do it this cycle as im away in london for work wed-fri and 6DPO is thursday

I reallllllly hope last month was a one-off!

I'm so glad Rob's moles turned out to be of no concern. That's always a relief! I also commented on your main board post, but every cycle can be different. I will be hoping that this was just a wacky cycle!

Your doctor's progesterone numbers sound weird to me, unless they count it differently in the UK. My 8DPO progesterone number was 15 and I was PREGNANT! I clearly ovulated. My doctor looks for anything at a 10 or over at that point to indicate ovulation.

I'm glad Rob's moles are fine!

It is a different unit of measurement. It is equivalent to around 4.7 US measurements for progesterone lol.

I did say in my post that I wasn't sure if they measured it differently in the UK.

That makes sense that your doctor is wondering if you even ovulated if the equivalent is 4.7 for what we measure in the US.

Just converted it so it made more sense in the US's scale for you. I agree that is a maybe weird o or low progesterone number. I had some months of those where my chart looked ovulatory but my progesterone was like 2 or 3 or something random.

I appear to have had only a 12 day LP this last cycle and maybe the one prior to that (not 100% sure about the prior onw though as not positive about when I Od). That sucks, beforehand it was 13 days and although that wasn't great, I could live with it. I feel like 12 days is getting a little on the short side though. I think ill see how this cycle goes and go from there.

AF was pretty rough this month, first two days were reallly heavy which is unusual for me. So bad the 2nd day that I was feeling pretty wiped out. Also odd and I just hope it was a one off!

I'm having a lovely weekend otherwise, the sun is out and I've got a bit of sunburn from being out in the garden yesterday as it sooo warm! I always feel happier when the sun is out! We finally bought a new lawnmower so our lawn is now a more acceptable length , it was getting pretty out of hand!

I'm just sat on the patio in our garden, wev just had some yummy bacon sandwiches for a late breakfast. About to watch the formula one, its in Monaco this weekend - playground of the really rich! Robs chopping wood for the fire, he's definately improving his axe technique! And meg is running aroUnd the garden like a loony playing fetch with us. Although she gets really hot in the sun because of her thick coat she doesn't seem to care, ill have to make sure she comes and sits in the shade for a bit soon.

That's about it, boring bit the cycle. Hopefully in this cycle well have robs SA results back and ill have some more bloodwork done to check my progesterone. All in good time though! Happy Sunday!

I've just noticed crystals post re my prog number, if it was the equivalent of your 4.7 and they say anything over 10 indicates O, it is pretty low! So strange when I look at my chart that cycle! Let's hope this cycles is better!

If you are concerned about your LP Shortening I would start taking Vit B6 and B12. That lengthens your LP but if you take a small dose it should keep you from becoming any shorter. My LP has increased by a day....from 10 to 11 days. It really seems to be taking a long time for the change but it is working. I am hoping it will keep increasing but if anything it is very healthy for and good for your hair .

I think there is something about a warm sunny day that makes us all happy!

KUP on your b/w results. I hope you get some great news.
