Sorry I disappeared there, ladies. That was a tough cycle So, on to the next one - again. I did 2.5 mg Femara days 3-7. I'm seriously considering not temping after confirming O, as high temps obviously don't mean anything anyway. I am just really sick of all of this. I have an appointment with my PA March 25th. I'm ready to move on if this cycle fails, so hopefully we'll come up with a plan then.

I have been working on garden planning, not that it's ever going to warm up here. We were in the 80's last year at this time, and now we can't even hit 40. We really need some good weather so we can get to work on the yard before we're gone camping every weekend.

I really need to get off my butt and get this house cleaned up. I get a little depressed and lazy when AF shows...

I don't know how many basketball fans we have around here, but DH and I are very much looking forward to the Selection Show tonight. March Madness is one of our favorite times of year, especially when our team makes the tournament! I need to find out when we play - may need to get some time off work...

Take a break anytime you need - that last cycle really was a tough one. I hope your appointment this month helps you guys come up with a plan and that it warms up there for you soon!

We all deserve some lazy/relax time when AF shows up. Hang in there!! Have fun with March Madness

So sorry that the femera didn't work this cycle. Hopefully, you can move on to the next steps!

Nothing wrong with being lazy and enjoying some March Madness!

I'm so sorry Jenny I can completely understand needing time away. I really hope it isn't much longer before you get your BPF.

I hear you on the weather. It's the same for us here. Last year we were having 70-80's degree weather at this time and it won't hit 40 and the snow is not stopping!! We need spring!

I was thinking of you this week as I watch my strawberries in my garden come to life. They were the ones I planted last year. We learned a lot from our garden but haven't had the time this year to plant it again. Our green onions never died, they are comically enormous. And our grapes are coming back too. But our strawberries are taking over

I wish we had space for strawberries - fresh strawberries are the BEST! We are still a few weeks away from planting here. Hope you guys find some time to get some garden work done.

Stopping by the boards quick today. After last cycle, I am trying really hard not to obsess this go around, and I really can't do that without avoiding JM, unfortunately. I miss everyone though

I did have an appointment last week, and we are at the point where I am most likely going to get a referral to a new doctor. I'll go into that more in the coming weeks. 9 DPO today, nothing to report. I am temping sporadically - not really worrying about it though.

We spent yesterday with my mom, siblings and nephew, and will be with DH's family today. Here's Colton playing catch with his daddy and Scott yesterday (that's Max and Penny in the foreground) -

Well, I guess it's time for me to get back on here. I have been away for several months. It just got too hard seeing so many of my fellow vets move on without me. To any of those ladies reading this - PLEASE know that I don't mean to say I'm not happy for you (because I am), or that I hold anything against any of you (I don't). Obviously, the goal here is to move on, and that's what I want for everyone, but it can be difficult to keep the jealousy at bay. Now that I've admitted all that, moving on...

We have done 3 IUIs with Femara since I was last here. My doctor generally recommends 3-4 before sending you to an RE. We don't want to waste any more time (and we weren't crazy about the way my doc was handling the IUIs), so we are moving on. There are all of 2 IVF clinics in the state. Fortunately, we live only a half hour from one of them, and I work even closer. Though I'm jealous of people who have multiple choices, I'm also grateful to not be hours away, as some in the state are. I just heard from the clinic today, and was shocked to hear that they could get us in as soon as THIS Thursday! I actually opted for next Wednesday instead, just to give my husband some more notice, but dang - I fully expected to wait weeks or even months!

We are in the middle of a natural cycle right now, and I would LOVE for this appointment to be for naught, but I'm not really counting on that, for obvious reasons I have quite a bit more to say about both IVF and other stuff that's happened since I was last here, but I will leave for that another day.

Yay about seeing a RE next week!!!! I hope that the RE's plan will get you a quick BFP! If you have any questions, please let me know. Sadly, except for surrogacy and DE, I think that I've been through every procedure one can go through while ttcing. GL and KUP!

Hi Jenny, good to hear from you although I'm sorry you've been having a difficult time with TTC. Its great news that you can get to see an RE so quickly! Like you said, i've seen lots of ladies have to wait months for an appointment!

Oh and there is no need to offer apologies, we've all needed time out. TTC is hard and if anyone understands that - its those of us that have been here the longest. We'll all be here to support you though your next steps!

Getting pretty excited/nervous about our initial IVF appointment on Wednesday. I called today to make sure my records got faxed over, and have been working on my medical history forms (who the hell knows when their last tetanus shot or rubella vaccine was?!). I'm not altogether sure what all will happen at this appointment, but we were told to plan for 4-6 hours, so it must be a lot! I do know DH will give a sample for testing/freezing, and that we'll talk to a finance person. That's about all they specified.

Speaking of finances, I am lucky to have insurance that will pay up to $15k lifetime toward infertility treatment. Estimated costs are 18K, so considering our (high) deductible and coinsurance (20%), we'll reach our out of pocket max before we're done, meaning we will spend ~4k, and we have a lot more than that in our HSA, so the money won't be a problem. This only applies if we get it done this year though. On January 1, deductible and opm start over, which would SUCK.

Oh yeah, I'm somewhere around 7 dpo, but I'm too focused on the IVF stuff to really think about that. I would LOVE for this all to be a waste of time though!

After so much waiting, I kinda can't believe how quickly everything is coming together now! We are looking at a retrieval date of around October 13.

After the stress of trying to park and get where we needed to be (this hospital is huge and inconvenient), our appointment went well. We first met with the finance lady, who explained everything very well. The biggest PITA is dealing with the meds. We are covered 80/20 through in network pharmacies, and 70/30 through out of network. Out of network also requires us to pay upfront and be reimbursed later. BUT - we have a lifetime maximum for coverage, and were told that the ins. co. pays their in network pharmacies more, so while we might pay slightly less, we could be losing a lot more of our maximum. So, I have to all the ins. co., and several pharmacies, and get them to answer questions they don't want to answer. Ugh. Anyway, worst case scenario - we pay ~$700 for meds.

Next, I had an u/s and uterine sounding (mock transfer). No problems there. I had 36 follicles, which is a lot. Then we went over everything with the doc. Lots of info. Because of my high number of follicles, we will be doing an antagonist protocol with ganirelix, which allows the use of a Lupron trigger rather than HCG. This is to greatly reduce the chance of OHSS. There is a small dose of HCG (1000 units vs 10000) combined with the Lupron, so there is still a very slight chance of hyperstimulation. My sister recently donated eggs and had to be hospitalized for OHSS, so I was a bit afraid of it, and am glad to have some reassurance.

SO, my period is due next Tuesday, when I will start bcp. After 3-4 weeks on bcp, I will start my stimulation meds.

Meds I will be using - Ganirelix, Follistim, Menopur, HCG/Lupron trigger, progesterone in oil, Medrol tablets, and Keflex tablets.

Oh! Those who have been following me for a long time may remember that I didn't believe my doctor wen she diagnosed me with PCOS. Well, I was right. The RE says I do NOT have it, and that my old doc used an outdated blood test to diagnose it. I freaking knew it, and I've been taking that stupid metformin that upsets my stomach for no **** reason. I am so glad to be dealing with a doctor who knows what he's talking about now.

Alright, I know that was super long - it's mostly for my benefit, and I don't expect anyone to read it all, but thanks if you did!
