Plan is I will leave Thursday night after work, drive down, take a nap. Then Grandpa is going to Take Reme and I out to see my in laws... his presence will 1-keep the visit short and 2- keep them in line. DH and I will probably go back out for an hour or two on Saturday. They are welcome to come to the house to see us, but I'm not going to sit in theirs the whole time. Plus, I don't want Nola alone all day .. it's only a 1/2 door to the basement, which is fine.. but it will drive her CRAZY.

DH is excited, and we told Reme tonight and he freaked out. Kept kissing his mom and I. LOL. Gotta love the child!

I will update about the doctors appointment once I get home tomorrow. I need to go find a harness and leash for kitty kitty and an auto fish feeder for the tank. My Betta isn't doing well either, which makes me nervous to leave him for 4 days. I just did a big water change, an I will do another smaller one on Wednesday. Hopefully I will find some aquarium salt tomorrow too... it's so common in Canada, it's so weird I've tried two stores with no luck here!

I still have so much to do to be ready for it too.... and yet... I've gotten nada done. oi!

ty Karin, I did find some today.. and then freaking found it at walmart tooo.. Fishy is no longer laying on the bottom of the tank, so the water change helped, even if the quailty was fine. I'll add a bit of salt to the tank (1/2 dose cause I have a snail) tonight, and do another water change tomorrow and resalt Thursday before I leave. I'll treat him when I get back with real meds if he's not better.

Now.. onto what everyone wants to know.

Appointment went fine. I do not like the doctor, but his staff were fantastic. He very obviously doesn't like people who have done research, or been treated by other doctors in the past, or want a holistic approach to things.

He thinks the thyroid issue is a huge deal. We ran a blood test, should have the results tonight or tomorrow, and an rx called into Walgreen's shortly after that. Will need a repeat in 6-8 weeks. I don't have to go back into the office until then.

He feels that most of my complaints are thyroid related, which is what I suspected. He said the late ovulation's are likely because of the hormones being out of whack and my body not being able to mature them on time.

My biggest qualm, he will not count ANY pregnancy for which I cannot give evidence that there was an ultrasound showing a gestational sac. So I go from 12 losses to 1 (Since I don't have the records for Mel and Dee). Future pregnancy will require a beta over 15 at 14dpo, or 25 at 16 dpo to be considered. I don't like this... and it makes me want to scream.

He thinks BBT charting is worthless, and doesn't do anything but stress a woman out. He wants me to continue charting when af shows up and leaves, any spotting through my cycle and positive opks. I'm just going to keep doing what I was doing while DH was home. I'm to use opks every cycle from cd 10/11 forward. He told me to stick with the cheap dipsticks, and bank the money for if we need digi ones or a monitor later.

He also thinks that taking baby aspirin doesn't help AF be any easier, doesn't help keep lining from over growing. He says it's dangerous with out confirmed clotting information. I showed him in my records where the gyn who treated me for my heavy periods recommended 81mg aspirin daily to lighten AF and ease up the pain that comes with my body trying to shed that crazy thick lining. He told me she was wrong, and that my lining thinning out while on it is just a coincidence. I am choosing to ignore his advice, because I've gone from needing a whole pack of pads a cycle, to needing 1/2 a pack while she's here. No more major cramps.. I was even able to use a tampon for the first time in almost 3 years fully pain free this cycle! So yes, ignoring this advice.

If lowering the TSH doesn't get me pregnant in 8 months, he would like to run more tests in the new year. He's going bottom of the barrel right now, because we are paying out of pocket. And we should have insurance purchased by then (cause we have to), which would help.

So it went pretty much as I planned... I should know my results tonight or tomorrow, should have the rx by tomorrow. I have a few pills stashed away, I'm going to start them today

Oh, I'm supposed to make an appointment at Planned Parenthood for a Pap too since their prices cannot compare to PP's.

Ashley, I think it sounds like a very good appointment. Some doctors don't have good bedside manners and do get uppity when you say' "Well this other doctor..." Sorry to hear he is a bit like one of those. I am SO happy that he is willing to get your thyroid situated. I mean really it sounds like he thinks that it's no biggie to knock it back into its place. I just hope and pray that your body responds. I'm not a doctor so I don't know about baby aspirin and lining Debate.

This sounds like such a productive visit! Yay!

Yup I have 6m to get down to 1.5-2 and lose 30lbs. I have 8m to get pregnant, or he's gong to want to run the rpl panel...BUT... since Dh has to be around for those 8m.. it could really be another year lol. which will give me time to put away the 4k for the bloodwork and HSG. HOPEFULLY at that point I'll be pregnant, but if not we should have insurance purchased in January anyway, and he told me he can code the HSG for non fertility no problem (since I'm having a lot of pain) and most likely get it covered. We will still pay the full 2k... cause of the deductible, but it's better that way cause then it means most of it's used it and they'll end up covering more later

I'm feeling good about it.

Oh.. and by 8 months to get pregnant.. I really mean 8 -9 cycles actually ttc. The more months DH is gone, the more I can regulate that thyroid!

And lose some weight. My foot has been doing REALLY good, I should soon be able to start doing 20-30 minute walks if I take it at a 20mph speed or so. Or.. I can hit the treadmill in the fitness center. LOL.

I can't Reba cause of my foot. I had insertional achillese tendonitis I can walk flat.

And of course, I jinxed myself. Tonight at work it started pulling.. the same ripping feeling that got me into this trouble in the first place. So I could be spending some time in urgent care tomorrow.... thankfully I don't have to pay for it if I do.

Dr didn't call me back tonight, so they will probably wake me up in the morning with a call. I did dig out what little of the med I had (I was saving it for a bfp... cause I'd have enough to get bloodwork done and a new rx). He said he can't see him putting me on less than .1mg (100mcg) so I took that much before work.

So sorry about your foot, that will make it more difficult to lose weight. How is it feeling today?

Though I'm still not sold on your ob/gyn, it sounds like he has some good advice. I'm hoping that you will be pregnant before the 8-9 cycles are up and you won't have to worry about the next steps. Thanks for keeping up posted.

Foot felt pretty good today, I think I just over stretched it at work and it was angry. I'll just be taking it a little easier for a week or so, and make sure I stretch better before work.

I got my TSH results back. According to the lab normal is 0.45-4.5... my level was 21 (which is actually down from the 27 it was in May). So it's bad, really bad, but not as bad as it was. They called in my Rx, it's waiting for me at Walgreens, I'm debating how tired I am. I feel that the rx should be higher, but he's the doctor. I have to go back in 8 weeks for a re-draw and rx adjustment. The goal is to see it between 3 and 5. I have no TTC restrictions, but they did say if I can wait a cycle or two it would be best, but the reality is, some women show up for their welcome visit with thyroid levels worse than that, and have healthy pregnancies.

Today is cd 7. Monday is cd 12. There is a chance that if we dtd while I'm there.. and if I O "on time" we could get lucky. That's not my plan.. but hey, it could happen I've already seen ewcm this cycle!
