Just my two cents...

I tried the raspberry ketones and they made me horribly nauseous and had terrible vertigo. It was bad. I did lose weight -- mostly because I couldn't eat anything. Then gained everything back when I stopped taking them. So be careful! Hope your experience isn't as awful as mine was!

Now the lemon water -- that's a good idea! It makes water so much easier to drink! Yum!

lol Jeralynn I HATE Lemon water. Seriously, I send water back at restaurants if it comes with a lemon wedge in it. I am extremely sensitive to anything that is tart. It's hard to explain. I can easily drink pure lemon juice, or eat a lemon (yes, I can, and do eat lemons on occasion. lol)... but add it to water, and I just can't get it down.

I've been on the Ketones since... geeze I'm not sure, been a few days now. No side effects I can contribute to them. Nothing new anyway. I'll give almost anything a try at this point. At least they smell and taste good... unlike almost everything else out there.

Elle: I've been told I cheated. I tossed diced up kiwi and strawberries in my little blender (I have an off brand magic bullet) until they were almost pureed, then added a good rounded table spoon of Greek yogurt. I bought some molds... but then realized if I picked up some popsicle sticks from the dollar store/craft store, I could make them in my pee cups (clean ones people, clean ones LOL) or in sauce cups in bulk.

Something else you could do, is make them in ice cube trays, then pop them in ziplocs for a much faster smoothie addition. If you put 5 of 6 of them into a blender with a banana some milk and some protein powder you're set. And so much faster if you're in a rush. And if you're like me with texture issues, the extra purred factor is a huge bonus.

Reba: I haaaaaaaate the treadmill. I don't know why... but I'd rather be fat and lazy than have to use a treadmill. I suspect it's because the treadmill makes me want to run.. and I can't run, and I've accepted the likely hood of being a runner is almost nil. I like walking because I like being outside. Tunes on (let me tell you, you know you've been inside too long when you have to try REALLY hard not to break out in dance moves on the sidewalk), shoes on, nice scenery/things to look at.

Now the eliptical? that's a whole other story. I love those things. Too bad I'm not allowed to get on one for another few months. stupid foot.

I FINALLY got some decent sleep last night. I'm not sure I've mentioned, but one of the side effects of my thyriod med is sleeplessness. No matter what drug I took, I wasn't sleeping and it was driving me INSANE. Well i slept in 4hr chunks last night, which is so freaking awesome. But this totally explains the trouble sleeping through high school. I had no idea that was a side effect. And it's extra amusing, since I already HAVE a problem sleeping (I don't produce the hormones properly). I'm thinking the late evening walk helped.

I like the elliptical, too. I actually have one at home. It's nicer than the ones at my local gym, so if I want to use an elliptical, I just use mine. I don't have a treadmill, though, so I have to go to the gym for that. I guess I like the treadmill because I can just zone out and not worry about traffic or pay attention. *lol*

When I was a little girl, they tore out the railway in Nova Scotia (or most of it)... over the years they formed those into walking/biking or atv trails (atv's got their own trails, they can't use them all). I miss those trails because like you said.. I could zone out and just go. Come back to real life to cross a road, and then go another 3/4 of a mile before I'd find another cross walk. The only ones of those we have here are several miles away... actually very close to Reme's house.

I didn't get a walk in today, not yet anyway. I had to get him from school, yell at amazon etc. I wore flipflops.. and now my foot hurts... so I may dig out an exercise vid and see if I can just flap along somehow. LOL

Trails would be so nice!!! I really wish I lived near some trails I think I would walk way more. I have been walking on the grass at the parks near my house but it just isnt the same.

Did you find a good exercise video?

Since Atlanta is a huge city there are several paths like you mentioned, old railroad that were torn up and then paved as a straight, flat path that goes on for miles. You can google the Silver Comet Trail and Atlanta Beltline. I don't approve of the Beltline, but that has more to do with the politics of it than the idea behind it.

Thats great that your managing to get some decent sleep - I'm a terrible sleeper so I'm always really happy for a fellow insomniac when they get some good sleep!

I saw your post on fb about the lollies, sorry they didnt come out good! You'll have to let us know how they come out if you make them again!

Last night's sleep was awful. BLAH. I'm gonna to do a few miles here very shortly and see if it makes a difference in my sleep tonight. If so, I'm gonna start turning on an exercise video in the evening. Even if it's just 10 minutes, it should help tire me out.

Someone asked about videos.. I have Beachbody- Rocking Body, Carmen Electra's stripper tease, Beachbody - Brazil Butt Lift, Slim in 6, Zumba Fitness - Basics & 20 minute express, Zumba Fitness - Cardio Party and Dancing with the Stars - Latin Cardio. I've only ever used the Carmen Electro one and the Zumba Basics. BUT that's partly because they're vid files on my computer and it's not easy to see what they're doing on a 15" laptop. I'll be moving them all over to our external drive today so I can see them on the tv.

The scale yesterday said 227.4lbs. So no change from 2 weeks ago. That itself is a pretty big accomplishment so I'll take it. Hopefully being able to walk and be active now will help more.

I did manage to almost finish one of my crochet projects last night. A JM friend is having a little girl in July and I did up a cute little owl hat for her (among other presents I have amassed). I just need to line it with fleece and it will be done. Started the blanket for my new niece or nephew too.... it will take a fair bit longer, and that baby isn't due until the end of August. Of course Reme's requested I make EVERYONE blankets... so that's on my list of things to do for Christmas as well as making one for Reme's mom. I'm gonna be a crocheting machine. I bet everyone gets their blankets next year though

I've had my breakfast (oatmeal.. gag) and I had some lemon water (double gag.. and to make it worse I sweetened it a little.. with too much sweetener oi)... now I need to find some clothes and get my booty on the pavement.

And when I get home... I really need to find how to fix ingrown toenails with out cutting them out... my toes hurt

DH is talking about getting an apartment down where he's working.. since he could be there quite a while. And he wants me to come.

But... that means finding a new OB so I can get my thyroid done again in a few weeks.... and he seemed upset when I told him it was a hassle I didn't want to deal with right now. I mean, the nearest ob will be 45 minutes away from where he is if my research is correct. I need bloodwork done the last week of this month/first week of June (wow.. June? holy crapola!)... to me it makes more sense to wait until after I've gotten that blood work and the RX filled, because I should have another 2 months (hopefully 3 months) before I need to do it again. And I'm fine with driving home for a couple of days for an appointment after a few weeks... but if I go when he wants me to, I end up having to pack, go down there, come back within DAYS and then turn around again and go back... that's 40 hours of driving!!!!!!!!!

I have a headache, and I'm exhausted. But I do swagbucks and my internet was down earlier so I couldn't get them completed. So now I'm rushing to get them done by 2am (which is the deadline). I have no idea why I have a headache. I usually get two per month.. one when I'm oing (and it's cd 4.. I'm so not oing) and one the day before AF arrives.... the little voice in the back of my head is telling me to go take an hpt and an opk and see what they say. LOL.

Tomorrow is going to be a no walk day. We bought Reme a kindle as an incentive to be good/be responsible and it's arriving tomorrow. So I'll be going over to hook it up and show his mom how to use it. I'll try and do one of my videos.. but I won't stress if I don't. I'm going for a walk with L, Reme and the dogs on Thursday. Every other day starting off is really good. And hopefully AF will be gone this week and I can get in the pool. I considered going over tonight after DH went to bed... but I'm just too tired.

so sorry about the headache! I really hate getting headaches - I basically need sunscreen if I am going to be outdoors for more than 10 minutes. I am so ridiculously pale! I hope AF goes away so you can get back in the pool. A swim sounds really nice, I can;t wait until ours gets warm enough for me to get in (DH already goes in but I really really hate to be cold)

stark white!! That is new for you

225.6lbs this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm feeling ok enough to take official measurements and pictures. I'm going to slip into something clingy (lol) here shortly after I find my camera tripod.

Just made my lab appointment for my thyroid. I don't even HAVE to see the doctor!!! Woot for saving money! June 5th at 1:10 so I'll probably have to change my ticker to be for the exact date (I think I just put in a random one in June when I set it up LOL). I have to go to a different hospital to get the blood draw done, but that's fine.

I don't think I updated before, the OB recorded my original appointment so that what I paid at the office covered the blood work as well so I'm not getting an extra bill for that initial one. I suspect he's worried that I will forgo treatment again because of money. Oh boy, he's soooo wrong. LOL

Yeah I shoulda used a wondfo, but they were in the living room so I used a walmart one. They do often come out white. LOL. But the white opk was kinda interesting. My wondfo opks arrived today, 4m of them. hopefully I don't need to buy anymore (possibly ever since we're thinking of only having one kiddo).

Update that ticker! I love me a good countdown

The photos depressed me.... because I went back to find the ones I took when I moved to the US, and the ones from just before I did... barely 2 years... I seriously cried at my desk over what I have become.

Reme, L and I went for a walk tonight. 3.33miles, 90ish minutes... and a 70lb dog thinking he was the boss (we each had one of her dogs).

Then I went to the grocery store, and walked around there for another 90 minutes, and only picked up a few things. I was just browsing, seeing what I could find that was good for me. I picked up Quinoa veggie pasta (gluten free), ground fax seed, flax bread, coconut milk (sweetened... it was my "treat"). Trying to decide if I want to have beef and broccoli over noodles tomorrow, or if I want goulash again (which is what I got the pasta for).

I'm tired, and sore, and hungry. I'm having beans and franks for dinner... because I can. LOL. my hips, calves and arms hurt from the walk... pulling back on a big dog is hard work. LOL. I've got leash burns on my hands. The dogs aren't used to being walked. They get lots of outside time to run, but don't actually get a lot of leash time. So I think every couple of days We are going to go and do the trail with the dogs. Reme had fun... whined about being tired the WHOLE time. I'm really shocked he made it the 3 miles and THEN ran around the yard like a crazy person. He will sleep well tonight.

Awww... don't beat yourself up, it sounds like you are on the right track, and you have a great exercise and eating plan (I hate the word diet, blech) That is seriously a lot of walking, I hope you're not too sore tomorrow. I think you earned your beans and franks.

Also, what is quinoa? (Gonna google it in a second actually...)

You're doing really well on the eating and walking so don't beat yourself up! I'm doing terribly, myself, but at least you are doing something every day!

Good job on the exercise!
