Cycle # 13, 5 dpo

Well, I talked with my Ob/gyn's nurse yesterday about progesterone. As I was already 4 dpo they did not want to start me on prometrium until next cycle. Which bummed me out, but I'm optimistic that it will help. As a matter of fact, I think this is the only thing that can help me, as we've exhausted all other ways to fix my LPD. So, I will take that next cycle along with clomid. I left another vm for my ob/gyn regarding the amount of clomid that I should take next cycle, 100mg vs. 150mg. I'm waiting on a call back. Part of me does not want to take 150mg as the 100mg is giving me wicked side effects!

As you could tell by my last post, I was very distraught yesterday. DH was so supportive! He kept telling me that we are in this together and that we will get our baby. He's even offered to cancel his work trip to England to be there during my fertile time. He is the most wonderful, caring husband!

It's funny, I could tell that the medication was leaving my system last night as I was less irritable/in better spirits, less dizzy, less tired, less bloated, etc....I know af is coming today or tomorrow, so I'll be a bit irritable, bloated, crampy, etc....but it is nothing like clomid's side effects. They are horrible!

That's my update, AF should arrive any time now. The only thing to do is prepare for the next cycle!

Cycle # 14, cd 4

Well, AF came on Friday. I had a 21 day cycle with a 4 day LP. I start prometrium this cycle with 100mg of clomid. I'm going to be crazy on hormones, so I hope I'm not too bi**hy!

OT: My parents came to visit this weekend for my birthday (they always come to visit the weekend before or after my birthday). We had a nice time! They took us out to eat one night, made my favorite birthday cake and my dad made his famous Cincinatti chili!--yum! DH had to leave to go tdy to D.C. He'll be back on Wednesday, my actual birthday. So we'll celebrate then, with drinks. He's taking me to a french restaurant on Friday for my birthday dinner. I'm also celebrating my birthday with girlfriends tomorrow night--so lots of birthday celebrating!!!

Cycle #14, cd 5

Started clomid again today. This is cycle 3 of clomid; first cycle 50mg, second cycle 100mg, third cycle 100mg with prometrium. Hopefully, third cycle is the charm!

Tomorrow is my birthday and I think that 33 will be a great year for me!

Cycle #14, cd 6

Thanks again ladies for the birthday wishes you guys are the best!

So I decided to schedule an appt with my gyn after this cycle. As my cycles have been crazy--one 25 days long, one 21 days long, both with really short LPs, I thought it might be a good idea to sit down with her one and one and talk about next steps, as opposed to communicating through her RN. This is my 3rd cycle of clomid and I'm not sure how long she wants me on this before trying IUI. I wouldn't be surprised if she wants to keep me on clomid for several more cycles and then with IUI, I would use the stonger stuff (injectables). So my appt is for October 15th. Here's hoping that my cycle will be a normal length!

I think that's a good plan to sit down with your doc. I hope you get a plan of action that you're happy with. I'm meeting with my RE in December (thought I might move it up to November) to likely discuss moving forward with IUI so maybe we'll be IUI buddies! Or even better - maybe we both will get sticky BFPs and not have to worry about IUI together

Thanks Katie! Here's hoping we don't have to do IUI!

Cycle #14, CD 8

One thing I've noticed this cycle on 100mg of clomid, compared to last cycle, is that I'm having less side effects while taking the pill. The last two cycles when I took clomid, I started having hot flashes, headaches, moodiness, etc...right after I took the pill. Though I've had a few hot flashes and moodiness, overall, I'm not feeling as many side effects now. Maybe, my body is adjusting to the meds or maybe I will have more side effects this cycle after I O. I guess we'll see.

I hope all you lovely ladies have a wonderful weekend!

That's awesome that you've noticed less in regards to side effects this round!! I noticed that with round #2 of mine, though I wasn't sure if it was because I changed it from taking it in the am to pm.

Hopefully you'll stay in the "less side effects" boat!

You could also ask about trying Femara instead of Clomid if the Clomid isn't working for you. I have had almost no side effects on it, and it doesn't affect your CM and lining the way Clomid can. It is much more expensive though, and is used off label, so your doc may not be willing. Something for you to look into at least!

Cycle #14, CD 10

Having a great weekend! We went to C'est Tout (French bistro) on Friday to celebrate my birthday. The food was amazing! I want to eat there everyday! Unfortunately, I ate too much cake (ate 2/3 of the slice) and my stomach hurt the rest of the night. Saturday we decided not to go to the Cincinatti Octoberfest and instead went to the Dayton Art Institute Octoberfest. We had a wonderful time! DH and I split 4 sauerkraut balls and split a huge (about the size of a paper plate) potato pancake! My DH and I are both German and I'm polish as well, so needless to say, I could eat sauerkraut everyday! I was in heaven. Then after the festival we watched psu win its second game this season with our alumni chapter! So much fun, but ate and drank too much! Back to eating healthy today. I'm still losing weight though, so that's good. Only about 8lbs to go (maybe more, we'll see). Today has been relaxing! Laundry, working-out, cleaning, catching up on the dvr, overalll very nice. I'm always on the go, so it's nice to rest from time to time!

TTC news: still not as many side effects as last month. I start prometrium this week (well, as long as I ovulate around the same day as last time).
I'll keep everyone posted on how it goes!

Glad you had a nice meal for your birthday (aside from the feeling sick from cake part)

Also good to hear those side effects are staying away too, strange its come from an increased dose though!

Cycle #14, cd 11

So I did have side effects yesterday. I was a complete crank monster yesterday evening (and not because the Steelers lost). I was moody and emotional. I'm still rather emotional today. I'm sure after I O, I'll be even worse. F/X'd that the side effects dissipate!

Cycle #14, cd 13

Well, I'm not feeling great. I don't know if its the clomid or if I'm getting sick.

So, I had a horrific hot flash today! It lasted longer than my previous hot flashes. For awhile I thought I was getting a fever, but then it just went away. And I think that I may O even earlier this month! Hopefully by cd 15! We'll see, I can tell I'm gearing up! Please keep your fingers crossed that I do not get sick, as it could effect my ovulation and my weekend trip to Chicago!!!

you aren't getting sick and O is just around the corner!

I didn't realize that I think you and I have a lot in common when it comes to job. You mentioned being on committees (a million of them ) and that you were chair or co-chair.

I work for the University of Arizona in the IT dept, but I'm a business analyst for the Graduate College. We (UITS and Grad College) are collaborating on a project that will allow Grad students the ability to submit forms through the online student system (powered by an Oracle/PeopleSoft database). One of the forms is the committee nomination form. After they submit it, a notification e-mail is sent to the people listed on the form. Those people log into they system, review the form, and if they agree to be on the student's committee, in the role that was designated for them, then they approve and the form is routed (via e-mail notification) to the next person. The process repeats. Does your university do anything like that? So no paper is used? I'm just curious.

Anyway, I'm sorry to hear about your short LPs. My perinatologist told me that LPs are 14 days, and the only part of the cycle that varies is the FP. I wonder if she was just saying that "normal" LPs are 14 days, but it didn't sound like it when she said it. She said it like she meant that every woman has a 14-day LP. Odd.

I hope you're not getting sick!!! I know that delayed my O during the second cycle I charted by at least a week or so. Probably more like 2.
