RE finally emailed me. I'm on a very long FET protocol. I'm on bcp for 8 weeks. Also doing Lupron and an estrogen injectible prior to FET. I will begin the "reactive uterus" protocol, pumping my body full of ibuprofen and xanax after FET. I'll receive an FET calendar in the mail by the end of this week/beginning of next week, so I'll know more then. I start BCP today. Anticipated FET date is Halloween! Seems so far away. Of course, if this works, it doesn't really matter. In the meantime, I can workout like crazy (60 day insanity) and drink! So that's something to look forward to, especially during football season!

"We will also be treating you with the “reactive uterus” protocol which is a regimen of ibuprofen and Xanax to keep the uterine environment calm in the days following the transfer."

How exciting to have news and plans in place!! And Halloween is really just around the corner.

Why don't you just have your uterus try some deep breathing excercises?! haha jk jk. But it is very interesting that they are putting your uterus on Xanax.

I know right, apparently my uterus is anxious...wonder where she gets it from I took xanax during egg retrieval and transfer during IVF (also to calm the uterus), but only the day before and day of, not days after.

Thanks ladies for the support. Even if it takes me 5 years (only 3 years to go...), I will have my baby!!!!

This past Thursday I went to the VISN Strategic Planning Summit (woke up at 4:30am to atten. ). This is where all of the big shots from the VAMC's in Ohio meet to discuss their plan for next year. (i.e. VA Medical Center directors (CEO's), Associate Directors (COO's) and the like attend). As I'm part of the Leadership program at my VA, I was asked to help out. So they broke out into small groups to discuss some of the pressing issues at the VAs and were to come up with a plan on how to correct the problem. I was in the health and wellness group. I was supposed to create the powerpoint presentation, as needed, act as runner, etc...really assist in anyway that they needed. So right before my group's presentation they volunteered or "voluntold" me to lead the entire group in stretching exercises. So off the top of my head I led all of these powerful people (CEO's, COO's, etc...) in a two minute stretching exercise, while wearing a modified sailor outfit (okay, so it was a nautical themed event, all leadership development members had to wear white shirts, black pants and were made to wear plastic sailor caps and navy-style looking knotted scarves). It was so funny! Afterward my one coworker and I went to lunch at Max and Erma's in Columbus. I ran into one of my good friends there! I'm never in Columbus and the only day that I am I run into a friend at lunch.

My parents came in for a long weekend to celebrate my birthday. They came in Thursday afternoon and will stay until tomorrow morning. My birthday is not for another month, but DH is away on a boy's baseball game watching/beer drinking trip, so I thought it would be a good time for them to come. Plus I will be in Pittsburgh the weekend of my actual birthday, so I will see them then too. My mom took me shopping yesterday for my early birthday present (lots of awesome outfits from NY&Co), while my Dad stayed at my place making my favorite Cincinnati chili! :yum: Today, my mom and I went to a neighborhood festival and tonight we are going to the Pine Club, one of the best steak places in Dayton. DH is so jealous that we are going without him. Then we'll celebrate my birthday, by eating some yummy bakery cupcakes! Though I'm having fun with my family, I miss my DH, but he'll be home tomorrow afternoon.

I received my FET calendar in the mail yesterday. I will be on a lot of meds. I will also be on xanax for several weeks, so I'm going to have to figure that out, as it puts me to sleep. I'm so not looking forward to this cycle. At least I don't start taking a lot of meds until 10/6.

Like I have mentioned previously, I will likely not be on the boards very much for the next month or so. If I am, I'll likely be on the TTC MA board in the IVF area. Love all of you! Praying for lots of BFPs! XOXO

Hi ladies,

Of course, I miss you all, it's just so hard to be on the boards when you're prepping and not actually trying. I've been busy with traveling and working, like I said in a post a little while ago.

Today I'm sad. Next week is my birthday, which I normally celebrate with glee (yeah, I'm one of those that celebrate all month long ), but this year I'm sad. I turn 34 and I'm still not pregnant, nor anywhere close to being pregnant. I think that I'm just feeling sorry for myself. My DH will be gone for my birthday too (work trip, that he can't get out of). I plan on having dinner and drinks with my one friend who is also struggling to get pregnant (3 miscarriages in the last 4-5 cycles). Like I told Jen earlier, we may cry over dinner. I just thought that I would either be pregnant or at least have a 1 year old by now. Oh well, onward and upward. Things will get better, I will have a baby/child at some point.

I hope all is doing well. Sorry for my absence. XOXO

aww. *hugs*

I can't sympathize over the birthday coming with no baby. My 30th is next month... I never expected to be this old with no children (of my own). Enjoy those drinks... I will likely do the same for mine!

While I can't relate to the medical issues, I can relate to feeling like you should have a baby already. I didn't find DH until I was 29 and I thought I'd have been married and done having kids by then. You're going to be an amazing mom. Your baby is just waiting for the right egg and sperm to meet. I think of you often, even if I don't come by very much anymore.
