Sorry about your cancelled IUI

Yeah, Femara isn't approved for infertility treatment anywhere, just for breast cancer in post-menopausal women. It will actually have a warning about not using it before menopause. This is because there was a very small, poorly done study that showed it caused birth defects - in women who used it the whole time they were pregnant! For ovulation induction, it's only taken CD 3-7 and since it has a half-life of only 2 days, it's long gone well before you ovulate. That's also why it doesn't thin your lining like Clomid, since it's gone before thickening occurs. I really think it's a great option for you, and I'm glad your RE is wiling to try it.

Yeah Nicholle - we've already paid for it, so I want to do it. It's kind of annoying because I know we're moving onto IVF next, so I feel annoyed it's delayed another month, but maybe Femara will do the trick! And if not, it'll be good to know about the lining issue before we start IVF because that's not something IVF can fix!

True, if you have lining issues, they'll stop IVF too. Hopefully Femera will help with this so that you'll have a successful IUI #3!!!!

You're so sweet for checking in Nicholle. We're not doing anything this month, taking it off. To be honest, I'm loosing my patience with MA, and we haven't even started with IVF. Things just take so long. We started on the route to MA in Sept, and so far we've only managed to get 2 IUIs in. I find the delays frustrating. I feel sort of like I've given up these days. That being said, we're definitely doing IUI + femara next cycle, and then definitely moving onto IVF if that doesn't work. I just don't have the drive to 'make it happen' like I used to. It's kind of sad. I still want a baby more than anything, but I feel tired and mad that it's not fair there are so many of us who struggle so hard to have a baby when people around me get pregnant.

Sorry that turned into a rant! I really didn't mean to I was just going to pop in and say hi, and thanks for checking in on me, and to let you know I'll likely be away from the boards for another month till we get back into the TTC world again.

No need to apologize for the rant; I know exactly how you feel! This cycle is my first natural cycle since July 2012. We're still BDing and trying, but I'm not as into it as I was before. I was so focused on MA and especially IVF. After that failed, I'm kind of like, well, we'll see what happens. Like you, I want a baby more than anything else, but when you try so hard and nothing, it becomes a bit discouraging.

Of course, I'm still planning on laproscopy, FET and IVF #2; but overall I'm not too optimistic about anything anymore.

Ok, I made this a bit about me, I'm sorry. I really hope that IUI # 3 works, if not feel free to ask questions about IVF. Everything is crossed for you!

CD 10 - IUI #3 (Femara + Trigger)

I'm alive! Really I've been silently stalking you ladies, just to make sure I still know what's going on with your lives, but I haven't felt like posting in here.

Just wanted to give a quick update. I did Femara this month, and so far it's looking good. Had my ultrasound and bloodwork yesterday. Have 2 good follicles on the left, and 1 on the right. So that's good news (kind of scary in a way to think of 3 potential eggs - but I know the chances of THAT happening are really low). Waitingon today's bloodwork results to find out when my IUI is: if I am surging today, I'll do the trigger today, and go in for the IUI tomorrow, and if I'm not surging today, I'll still do the trigger today, but go in for the IUI Thursday. They should call me around two this afternoon.

So that's where things are. There has been an enslaught of PG annoucements around me lately, so that's been annoying. Other than that, things are ticking on as normal! How's everyone else doing?

Thanks Nicholle

CD 13 - 1 DPIUI

So I had IUI#3 yesterday. It went fairly well. DH's numbers were down (65 million) but I know they are still good! We were just working with amazing before I had some CRAZY ovulation pains on Friday morning for a few hours, which I hope means the trigger was working and I was popping out all the eggs I almost couldn't stand up. Plus I was having O pains on my left side, which I never, EVER have. Everytime I go for an u/s they always say "you're going to/have o'ed on your right". Maybe my left has some good eggs that haven't had a chance

This is my first cycle with multiple dominant follicles, and my first with a trigger, so hopefully one of those makes a difference.n I'm trying to stay relaxed and positive. However, one of my darn dogs ran away down the street this morning (near a moving truck!) and gave me a near heart attack, so much for being relaxed!

65 million is great! My DH only had 11 million for IVF. Yay for O pains!!! Hopefully you sent out more than one egg so that you will definitely get a BFP! I think trigger shots make a difference. I have an LH issue where my body slowly releases LH which causes my O to be weaker and later in the cycle. With the trigger shot, I have a nice strong O! Hopefully it will work the same for you!

I'm so glad that your dogs are safe. I would be scared to death too! I'm sure it won't have an impact on ttcing.

I really hope that this is your cycle!!! Everything is crossed for you!!!!

BTW, are you on fb? If so, maybe we could be friends.

Thanks everyone for checking in. You're so sweet - it warms my heart.

Unfortunately, the only symptoms I have are the normal pre-AF symptoms. Usually about 5-6 days before AF I start getting low cramps, and sore bbs. Combining that with my BFN yesterday (yes, I know it was early - I could't fight the urge!) I've gone from feeling hopeful to less than hopeful. I'm trying to not count myself out yet, but I'm not feeling optimistic.

I got an invite for a baby shower minutes after my BFN yesterday. Life likes to kick you when you're down eh?

I'm hoping too early also - three's a charm right?

Yep, sods law that you receive something like that after a BFN. Like seeing an ultrasound picture on fb!
