I'll officially start a grad journal once I have the viability ultrasound scan. I'm too scared to start one before then.

Lately the whole waiting for beta results to come back has been making me really nervous. These last two weeks have been the best two weeks of my life. I am TERRIFIED that something is going to go wrong. I've been really relaxed up until the last couple of days. I remember reading posts about women who had their betas pulled and I thought to myself, "Gosh it sounds like that causes a lot of undue stress. I hope my doctor doesn't order that."

I had my blood pulled yesterday. Thankfully I got the nurse who took my first betas. She was much more gentle than the other nurse who left me bruised. And I've never bruised before! (Uh hello, I think if I can find my own vein with a needle then you should too.)

With a little luck the nurse will call around lunch with my numbers. Let's hope homework and house chores can keep my mind busy until then.

Ugh. No results. I called on Friday because they took blood on Wednesday so that should have been enough time. Nope. Nurse told me it can take up to seven days. I was thinking, "seriously? No it doesn't." But okay no by the the time I get my results on Monday the results will be five days old. Which is irritating. I wouldn't have had them do the test if it wasn't going to be until the next week before results got in.

So I'll probably just schedule my ultrasound at the end of this coming week in hopes of catching a heartbeat.

Thanks for checking on me. I read the main board and all the journals daily. I probably always will until you guys graduate and it's all new people.

Yeah that's BS, betas SHOULD be back by the end of the day if they were drawn by noon, by noon the next day if drawn after. There's no way a Beta takes 7 days.. they're a measuring test designed to be done every 48 hours.. what's the point in doing them if the results aren't back?

Hopefully they were nice and high and the doctor can schedule your ultrasound!

Wow, what the heck? I am sure everything is fine though. No unusual symptoms or anything right? I think your plan to schedule the U/S is right on the money. Good luck! And congrats again!

That is really frustrating!! My betas usually take about 2 - 2.5 days to come back and I thought that was absurd!! I hope you get the results soon. I cant wait for another update!!

They didn't. I left a snippy message, too. If they don't call tomorrow I'll probably leave a message at the front desk to tell me how to get in contact with the lab that has my blood. How does a patient get her records? If I end up liking this New OB then I think I may not return to this practice that has not bothered to check on my beta results. Tomorrow is six FREAKING days since the am blood draw. I'm fuming.

I cant believe that Sam!!!! That really is infuriating!

Depending on where you get your lab work done you can sign up for an online service (for lab corp it is Microsoft HealthVault) and betas usually post in 3 days. I get all my lab results before the office ever calls me.

6 days is ridiculous. . . I would be calling at least every hour. But I tend to annoy doctors offices. . .

They finally called! My number was over 5,000. Ultrasound at Friday at 10:15. If there is a heartbeat then I'll move to the grads section. The upside is that once you see a heartbeat your chance of miscarriage drops to about 5%.

I actually feel pretty sick today. I guess I need to eat more often.

You ladies are my home. I wish there was a blinkie for being from this board. And I need to dig up my motm blinkie from here.

That is so wonderful Sam!!!! I can't wait for Fridays update!!! Dont worry I will be following you in the grad section

Try eating saltines as soon as you wake up. A little snack first thing can be very helpful. Sour candy was also a huge help for me! Eating more often is a great idea too. I know different things work for everyone so just keep trying different things.

Love your idea for a blinky - a TTC#1 Grad blinky would be super fun!
