Quick update on SA:

Good news. Super sperm. That's what he has.

Motility is twice what they look for, and sperm count is 7 times what is considered normal. Sooo, he should theoretically be able to impregnate anything.

Hoping that with my luteal phase apparently getting longer we will see a BFP soon.

I'm just getting around to reading some of the shorter journals before tackling the long ones.

Congrats on super sperm. I have my fx that with a lengthening LP and his super sperm, your BFP is around the corner.

Since you asked... I cant be sure if it's genetics or just good luck, but it may have something to do with the kind of lifestyle he lives. He is on a pretty strict "paleo" type of diet, no gluten, no wheat, low carbs, organic stuff whenever possible, most of the week, but he will have rice or sweet potatoes on the weekends. He does drink occasionally but it has to be "Paleo friendly" which means usually either hard cider, or tequila and club soda with lime. He takes about a gazillion different supplements, including magnesium, vitamin D, vitamin C, cinnamon, fish oil, and probably a few others that I can't think of right now. He drinks tons off coffee and tea. He also takes branch chain amino acids to help him with all of the power lifting he does and time that he spends at the gym... so I don't know if you can attribute it to one of those things or a combination, or like I said, just luck, but I imagine he probably has very high testosterone because of the weight training that he does, whatever it is, I can't pick on him for it anymore because he'll just be like "Do you wan't me to have super sperm, or don't you?" If I ask him to have pizza with me.

Sounds like a great lifestyle plan! Maybe I'll get DH to try this!

Yay for super sperm!!! lol. He sounds like super man really with all of that stuff. I wouldn't be able to get my DH to do a fourth of that. If we are being honest, I wouldn't do a fourth of that unless I knew it was the only way to get a BFP. I would have to be desperate.

Ugh, I'm so frustrated. I've been spotting for the past 6 days... since "Ovulation".... my doctor is an idiot and I don't even want to call her to discuss this. I just want to find a new doctor. I should be looking for a new doctor anyway, because I don't even think that this one is in my insurance network since things switched this year... .. and I am not in the right frame of mind right now to call the insurance company's customer service number... I went on their website to look at the list of in network doctors but it doesn't seem like any of them are accepting new patients.

I just don't know what I'm supposed to do at this point... I thought things were looking up, but they aren't.

Hating my body right now.

Hey hey hey! Don't give up yet. I definitely vote for a new doctor.

Did the insurance company's website say that the in network doctors weren't accepting new patients? Don't trust their site. I recommend visiting the websites of the other in network docs or calling their offices. You may find a compassionate nurse who could slip you in the schedule somewhere.

Good luck finding a new doc. I agree with Sam, call around, you'll find someone. I hope that you are having a better day today!

I'm sorry your having hassle with your doc. I guess its easier for me as I dont have much choice about who I see, however they are much more closely regulated.

I hope you can find a new doc, maybe try sitting down to do some research when your in a better frame of mind.

That is frustrating I put off finding a new doctor for a while because it can be so confusing but the other ladies. If you call around I am sure someone will take you and you will feel so much better once you have a doctor you trust and can talk to.

I hope you find a new doc soon!

Bad news and good news today.

Soooo... pretty sure AF is here. Spotting again today. I tested this morning... 9/10 DPO - BFN, which just had me so down in the dumps... I went back to bed after church and took a 5 hour nap, in lieu of having a meltdown. So tonight I was making dinner and I went to bathroom after I put the food in the oven... and AF is already starting to show... I think tomorrow will count as CD 1. So this will likely be a 25 day cycle... with last cycle being 31 days... errrrgggghhh. That was the bad news.

The good news:
After dinner I had a couple beers, and started reading over the 100 page explanation of benefits document from my health insurance. Found out that IVF is not covered, not a big surprise, and we're not ready to go down that road just yet anyway. But what did surprise me was that "Evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of the underlying medical cause of infertility is covered at 80% after deductible is met."

Soooo.... this sort of opens a whole 'nother window of possibilities because it is contradicts my original assumption that seeing a fertility specialist would be 100% out of pocket. Turns out I don't even technically need a referral according to the insurance policy, but I know that most doctors/specialists around here want a referral before they'll see you.

I think I might want to wait a month or two to make an initial appointment because I want to have this summer to try to lose a few pounds... and all of this TTCing has made me really cautious about any high impact exercise during the TWW... and I am pretty much a cripple when AF is around, which gives me a week or two out of the month that I'm reaching optimal activity levels... I know... excuses... but I've put on a few pounds, I blow up like a balloon if I don't get a lot of exercise... so I think the tentative plan as of this evening is we'll be NTNP for the next month or two, save up a little bit of moneys, and make the appointment with a fertility specialist. If I have a blocked tube, or endo, or hormonal defects, or something else, we are actually allowed to get it diagnosed without going (as) broke! I mean we'll still have to pay the deductible and the 20% of whatever treatment ends up being, but it's a lot more than I thought we could get. That's kind of neat.

Other things I learned about my insurance policy: Tubal ligation and IUDs are 100% covered, you don't even have to pay the deductible.... but cancer treatment (and most treatments for other illnesses) are only covered at 80%, and you have to meet the deductible before you get a payout from the insurance company. Not sure how I feel about that....

so sorry AF showed!!

Whew 100 page document on benefits sounds like a thrilling read That is amazing that they cover some fertility stuff!!

Sounds like you have a good plan - maybe try and set up the appointment now even if you dont want to go in for a few months. Doctors around here can take months to get into I am not sure what it is like in your area.

GL with the weight loss!

I hate that insurance covers some illnesses, procedures, etc at 100% and others they don't cover at all. It's ridiculous! Okay, hopping down off my soapbox before I really get started...
