How do you add like a shopping cart to a website? And also, how do you make it so that once a customer has paid they can then download the product without you having to email them a link ect?

I hope I make sense TIA x

You can go through paypal, but the source is viewable if people know how to see it. So people can look at the source of your website and get the download link. So we are using e-commerce. We couldn't find a way to encrypt the link using just paypal. As for exactly how to do it....my mom made the website for me, so I am not exactly sure. I know you can get buy now and add to cart from paypal and they can give the person the link without having it e-mailed. But out of the programs she knows that using one in which the product is e-mailed after payment is confirmed is the safest for digital products, so people can't get around having to pay for it.

Sorry I am not more help...

Your web hosting service may also have a secure shopping cart feature. Go to your site's control panel (www.yourdomain.com/cpanel) and see if you have a shopping cart option somewhere in there.

Thanks ladies. I looked at paypal and using the add to cart buttons ect, but I couldnt find a way of making the link to the product available via a download link and whatnot. This is all very confusing to me.

I then downloaded that zen cart thing, and whoa, that IS confusing

Zen is a bit confusing..
You can always pay someone to set it up for you? I know Kathy Moore does it..not sure how much she charges though.. probably around $150-200.. but don't think she makes custom templates.. if you are even looking for one...so you would have to have one made or buy a premade one.. and she would probably charge you more to install that also...
Sorry I know not much help..
to tell you the truth, It is WAYYYY cheaper to sell at another shop instead of shelling out all the money to have you own.. I probably spent like $500 when I first set up my shop a few years ago and then this years had to pay another $200 for SSL.. Really too much money! And i really don't make it back.. It is also hard to get people to come to a small personal shop over shopping at a big known one.

Good luck!
