On Saturday April 11th one of my friends died. He was only 23 years old. I attended the funeral yesterday, it was heart breaking, to see his mom and dad, his grandparents just trying to keep it together. The funeral was huge, I mean hundreds of people. So many that they had to open 3 ajoining rooms and use every chair they had, even still there wasn't enough, people were standing in the hallways and in the entrance area.
Justun was way too young for this to happen, as a matter of fact he was suppose to come and visit this coming weekend, I am sad, I'll never get to see him again. I hope he knew I cared so much for him.
His death could have been prevented, from what I was told he was hit by a car, he went to the hospital, he didn't feel right. Emerg looked him over and sent him on his way, refusing to do anything further because he had an expired health card. He went home and died due to internal injuries and bleeding of the brain. I do hope that his family sues for this, I know it won't bring him back, I know it won't bring closure but just maybe it will prevent this from happening to someone else.
I miss him so much already. He was well loved by many.
Oh my gosh, that is awful. I'm not sure about in Canada but in the united states no hopsital has the right to refuse service to ANYBODY! I hope the parents do sue. You are right, it will not bring him back but it will give them the satisfaction of possibly saving another life.
I'm so sorry Leasha. I'll keep you and his family in my prayers.

Oh honey, I'm so so sorry to hear this!! I've been to quite a few funerals for my friends that were WAY to young to die, but to hear that they could have helped him and they turned him away is just REVOLTING! I cannot believe that any medical provider would turn someone out after they've been HIT by a CAR. That just really......
I'm so sorry that you never got the chance to see him before he passed...I'll be praying for you and for his family.

Oh man, I am so sorry. I know that doesn't help, but I truely am sorry for your loss. I know how hard it is to loose a friend. And at such a young age. I hope his family does take legal matters on this, that is just unacceptable!
I dunno, I'm not dealing with it all too well. I find myself thinking about him all the time and crying.
The last thing he said to me just recently was "I promise to come see you guys this weekend" and now he will never get to. I miss him so incredibly much. I can't even imagine what his family is going through.
