Get your inspiration? I dont really have a creative bone in my body. Of the siggies I have done, there are ONLY two that i am actually not embaressed to post. I find the kits and download them with all of these magical ideas in my head..and then when it comes time to do them..i just throw the stuff together and hope for the best..did everyone start out like that? or do i really just need more creativity?

I still do that!! I've had to delete kits before b/c I had all these great ideas and just couldnt put them together! Inspiration comes and goes, but for me its all about the layout. If I can get pictures in a good layout (which is usually the first thing I tackle) I worry about element placement after. But I've found if I start off w/ a picture layout I don't like I just can't get the siggy together and I quit the siggy halfway. If its a request I start again later with a fresh slate.

I do admit I go through all the approved copy cat galleries from time to time to get layout ideas so I can figure a good way to organize pictures that have me stumped.

This is a challenge we had not too long ago.. and I do use this "method" if you will sometimes myself when I'm stumped or just wanna "try a new approach" so maybe trying it out this way will help boost your creativity!

If you're looking for inspiration have a look through the makers galleries for ideas.

Yep - I used to browse the galleries a TON. Now I mostly use the scrap galleries and try to find a layout that I can "convert" into a siggy! I almost always need help coming up with inspiration!!

I don't ever browse galleries for inspiration, I just play with the pictures and elements until I like the way it looks. I like my layouts to be 100% mine and even if my sigs do resemble someone else's, it's usually just by accident or from something that stuck in my head, kwim? But I prefer just going the original way, I find it works better for me.

On days when I'm completely uninspired, I just take a break... and don't make, or don't make as much.

I don't really look at galleries much either now, but when I first started making scrappy siggies I did. Just keep doing it and you will get better and better.

Aunt, I totally agree with you! I feel like I've got the technological part of this pretty well down, but as for the artistic part I'm hopeless! For example, for photoediting, most of the tutorials say "just play with the sliders until you get it to look like you want it to," and I'm going "okay, but how do I know what I want it to look like?" I can see that when you move the slider one way it looks like this, and the other way it looks like that, but how do I know which way is better? Sigh. Maybe eventually I'll get the hang of it.
