Just got off the phone with Logan's pedi. His Endocrinologist appointment is July 1st and we're still waiting to hear back from the Gastrologist (should be sometime today). His blood work taken last week was "okay", but showed elevation in WBC's and Liver Enzymes....
I have no clue what that means, I know elevation in WBC's can mean a viral infection, even though he has no symptoms. But I've never heard anything about elevation of liver enzymes and they nurse didn't explain further? They're sending the blood work to the Gastro and Endocrin doctors as well. Luckily he was cleared from anemia & Celiac's Disease.

Well I'm sorry it wasn't all clear for you, but hopefully it's nothing! This may be a dumb analogy but when I was pregnant with Coral I had elevated liver enzymes and it didn't cause any sort of lasting problems for me. I hope you can gain some more insight soon and everything comes back great!

I hope it is nothing Heather, I hate that so much when you get an answer but not an explination. *hugs* Just don't google it, you will drive yourself mad over the things out there. It is great news though some things have been cleared, that is a start!
I've already googled. It could be something as simple as fighting a viral infection (which would explain why his white blood cells are elevated as well). Or something more serious. I'm leaning towards the viral b/c the other stuff doesn't make sense. jaundice, etc. I would call back but I think I'm just gonna wait to talk to the endocrinologist.

But if its a viral infection would the endocrinologist even be the one to address that?
Oh well, I can't blame you for not calling and wanting to wait and talk to the other one, I still haven't called either.
They told me another dr. was suppose to look at the results as well and they'd call back. I have no clue, but I think the nurse was trying to say it could all be a simple viral infection. He's (endo) probably not the one to address it but if there is something going on w/ his liver then the Gastro dr. would find it. I'm just sorta going w/ the flow and assuming its viral. No reason in freaking out when it could be nothing, ya know? I just hope the results from all the other upcoming tests don't take forever.
