I am just curious..... what colour eyes do you have? what colour eyes does DH/SO/BD have? What colour eyes do your LO's have?
Also........... any pointers on how to brighten up dark brown eyes? This is something that I really struggle with, as 2/3 of my girls have dark brown eyes.

Well, both of my parents have brown eyes, and all three of us kids of theirs also have brown eyes. Even my dog has brown eyes. My grandmother on my mom's side has cornflower blue eyes, and my mom had them when she was a baby/toddler. I have no clue as to how to lighten eyes. If there is a way to do it, let me know! I have milkchocolate-y brown eyes and they're so common!

Oh! Sharon would be happy with this topic
I have medium-brown eyes. DH has green. Both girls have my eye color.
To brighten brown eyes in photoshop, you can just select the eye part (i.e. brown) with your selection tool and put it on a new layer. Maybe feather the edges to 1 before you paste it so when you edit them, they blend in better. You can up the curves and play with brightness & contrast and even add a bit of color balance - more red, more yellow, etc. And sharpen slightly, but not too much because then it looks like alien eyes.

lol I do love genetics Julia!
Noah's....a mix. Blue is what we say...but they can look bluish green or bluish gray.
Mine...medium golden brown.
Belle....olive green with a brown starburst around the pupil.
Ry's eyes look like Kelly's quite a bit. He has very light, pale bluish eyes with a golden starburst around the pupil. They can look greenish where the blue and the yellow meet as well....like Kelly's in the above photo.
Finn's...gray/slate blue outside ring, then mostly green (lighter than Belle's, but not a vivid a green as hers), and then a gold/lt brown starburst around the pupil.
It will be interesting to see what this lil man's eyes look like.

This is a good close up I took of Belle's eyes in 2004 or 5...the color is the same. Completely unedited. I didn't even having an editing program when I took this pic and uploaded it to PB. Natural lighting from the window, no flash.
