So I was talking to my sister and said Yvonne, and she says to me that most people don't pronounce the Y in Yvonne. So I wanted to know. How do you say your name? with a Y or a long e sound (Ya-von or Ee-von)?
Just curious?

Maybe I am having hearing issues, but I clicked the little player symbol next to those 3 pronunciations and they all sound the same, but especially the 2nd and 3rd!

The second two sound sort of the same to me. The first, I am not sure why you aren't hearing it. It sounds like Yuh vonne.

It's pronounced Ee-vonne although lot of people pronounce it Ah-vonne, which annoys the heck outta me! I mean I can say Ee-vonne, my family can say Ee-vonne, I tell people my name is Ee-vonne and they still insist in calling me Ah-vonne AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!

^^ Me too. I know 2 Yvonnes, and both say their name Yuh-vonne or Yi-vonne either works for them. I never thought to say e-vonne, but I will now in my noggin when talking to you!

I've heard both on shows and such. Never known a Yvonne personally though. I've been saying it Yuh-vonne when I see your name. Ooops.

Well, darn it. Teresa is always right when it comes to how people pronounce their names. I feel a little better knowing that I wasn't the only one who thought Yuh vonne.

You'd hate me. Raianna I'd get right, but Elyse I'd say Ee leese, and Helena, I'd sat Hel-eena.
