Is anyone else in it's path? I probably won't have work all weekend because they're evacuating the entire Cape May island at 8 AM tomorrow. Today when I was at the beach with my dad and Austyn, the city officials were measuring the size of all the city building windows so that they could put wood and covers over everything, and they were taking the stone benches that sit on the promenade off and hauling them away on trucks (first off, these benches EASILY weigh about 150-200 pounds) so they must be expecting to be hit really hard.

We are not sure what to make of it. I live in Prince Edward Island..... which is not to far from Maine (about a 4-5 hour drive). We know we will get some nasty weather, but the forcast is only showing rain for Sunday, and then clear skies on Monday.....

We are in the direct path, well depending on what news station you're listening to, LOL!
Everyone here on the coast has been evacuated (i'm 7 miles from the coast but on a huge hill), people on the islands 15 minutes away from me were forced to sign wavers if they didn't want to evacuate---saying that if **** hits the fan no one will come rescue them until the storm has passed and they had to list their next of kin in case they die. Yep, that's what was said on the news last night. People here are freaking out. It's supposed to be much worst than Hurricane Gloria which closed the state down for days, people lost power for a week or more in my area. Even if the storm does weaken we are still screwed since it's supposed to hit at high tide.

My sister's mothers house is less than 15 ft from flood waters, a house is *floating* down the street from them.
Keep hearing huge crashes from the trees saying into the house---above my bathroom, and the boys room. May not have to worry about flooding, and still have power, but the wind is scary as hell, blew my downstairs neighbors Dish off the roof...
2nd cousin's house had a tree go through it and now my parents back yard is flooding from the marshes behind the house..

More pictures to come... Here are a few...
This is the end of my street looking to the left. And the cause of our power outage..
Golf Course in New Haven, flag ripped in half..
This is the street my sister's mom and step dad live on, look way in the distance, blue house is leaning, a few were completely destroyed, some where actually FLOATING and so much has been lost to the long island sound..
Close up..
In that area^^people were actually looting despite the massive police presence.
Trees down like every 50 feet, tons of power lines down... My power went back on while we were driving around....
Added: That blue house is officially SLIDING INTO the ocean!
The nutty part is, when we go to the fireworks, we sit RIGHT NEXT to that house!!!

Oh man, that's horrible! I have a little bit of a before and after comparison of Wildwood. Neither of these photos are mine though! This is Wildwood BEFORE the hurricane.
and this is during
There was a LOT of flooding and there were a bunch of power outages.

Wow! We have been getting a hell of a lot of floods over here in recent years so I'm kinda used to seeing flood pics with water as deep as that in your pics, but never uprooted trees (apart from the one hurricane we had in '86) and never houses toppling over like that. All our houses have concrete foundations and are brick, so it would take a helluva lot to get them to move an inch!!!!
Glad you all stayed safe x

Rachel, I was looking into your area, lol. The state will have more flooding today, the CT river is supposed to crest at high tide.
There is a video on my FB Wall a former classmate of mine put together, if you'd like to see:
Or go to this group and scroll down and look for the post made my D.J. Hops that says, "A QUICK SLIDESHOW I THREW TOGETHER WITH AUDIO CLIPS I EDITED TOGETHER AND ADDED SOUND EFFECTS TO WITH BACKGROUND MUSIC ALSO MADE BY ME.....PHOTOS FROM MULTIPLE SOURCES"
It has actual clips from the police scanners from Sat/Sun.
you can view it that way as well, linking straight to the vid isn't working... but anyone should be able to view it this way....
