Can't believe that it is already that time of year!?! Since I am South African and we don't celebrate it, I normally leave it to Brian as to how he wants to celebrate it. We used to try and see his family (who are down in Richmond, 2.5 hours away), but after one year where it took us 5 hours (yup, I said FIVE!), we just don't even bother. Also my BFF is South African too, and is unmarried, so we normally try and include her since she basically IS my family here...
How do you all celebrate? What are you making/bringing?
we are gonna do it at my house this year...my parents are coming down (1.5hours away) and we are also having over our neighbors with their 2 little kids since they have no family out here and in the 2 years we have been here (they have been here for 2 years as well they moved in like a month after we did) we have become really close like family....so me and my mom though will be doing most of the cooking she is coming out wednesday to help me and my dad will be here on thanksgiving day
We used to go to my parents for the thanksgiving, but we quit doing that a few years back, so we just stay here and have dinner with our little family, dh's family does not really celebrate the holiday not sure why I plan to cook plenty of yummy stuff
