Sadly, today will be our last full day with our dog Joe. He has been an amazing part of our family and loosing him is not easy on any of us. Joe has a tumor on his esofagus and is having a lot of trouble breathing and eating. he had his second seizure yesterday, after which I told DH it was time to call the vet. The poor guy is suffering, and after the girls saw him that way, I think it is time to let him be at peace. He will be missed, and there will be lots of tears shed...... this is the hardest thing I have ever had to do.... and trying to figure out how to tell the girls..... not easy. DH is taking him tomorrow while I am at work and the kids are at school. *sigh*
Aw, I am sorry Gwyn...for you AND your family!! We went through this just a few months ago with our dog Jake. He was 14 years old, and had a good life...and was a phenomenal family friend, but when he started looking like he was suffering we had to let him go...we were wrecks for a while, just knowing that we had to make that decision, but when it became evident that we could no longer see him that way, we had to make peace with it. We cried for DAYS...and still do sometimes when we forget that he is gone. Good luck....and *hugs*
