I cut my pinky finger last weekend with a butter knife. Do not ask how I did that? Dumb, dumb, dumb. Anyhow, it didn't bleed, but it was a pretty good gash and it hurt like heck. Well, I knew it hurt and I knew I couldn't bend my finger when I did it, but I thought it was because of where the cut was. The cut has healed up now, but I can't bend the very tip of my pinky finger. It doesn't bend at all. Very freaky. I thought I cut a nerve or something. I mean just weird trying to make something move and it not going anywhere. Anyhow, called my dad today and he said he thought I probably popped a tendon so I went ahead to the doctors tonight.

Anyhow, I guess I did cut a tendon so they are referring me to a hand surgeon to see what's up. He said they will either do surgery to fix it or tell me they can't fix it and I'll have to live with it. Either way I guess it can't be fixed without surgery. I am hoping this doesn't cut into my siggy making time.

I hope it can be fixed. It's hard to believe a butter knife could do that much damage!

I am so sorry that happend.

I hope that you have better luck than me I cut my left index finger mostly OFF (It was hanging on a little bit) when I was pregnant with Natahniel trying to open a toy for the overly excited Nicholas and of course it had about a million zip ties long story short I got stuck with stictches and no feeling left in my finger I can move it some what but there is nothing they can really do to fix it and since I am right handed they didn't think it mattered much.

Thanks gals. Well, I am not too stressed out it is only my pinky so worse case scenario I can't move the top of my pinky any more. And Jessica, that sounds like it hurts way worse than this did.

Ouch I bet that did hurt.................when I was about 13 I was in my room cutting something with my scissors trying to make something and the scissors slipped and I cut in between my fingers that really hurt and my mom took me to the hospital but on the way down there she kept saying they aren't gonna stich it up or nothing and when we got there they took me back and put about 3 stitches in it.

It is hard to believe a butter knife can do that much damage...But they surely can not to metion things like paper cuts hurt the worse. It's something about a boo boo on your hand that just makes it worse I guess because we use them for, Well EVERYTHING LOL.

Of course after I read this Hubby calls me from work (he is an electrician) and Tells me he is going to Urgent care to get stitches, He hit his finger on an AC vent while pulling wire...didn't think much of it so went ahead and drug his hand back the other way and it sliced the top of his finger wide open. He of course being and man grabbed some tape and said "It's fine" But one of his workers told him he better go get some stitches so his wife doesn't freak out. THANK GOODNESS! Sheesh watch out for your hands evereyone!
