Today I was part of a great assembly at Brian's school. It was called Books Alive.


The general idea is to make books come alive to elementary schoolers, buy acting them out. We put on a series of 8 or 9 different skits, each adapted from a child's book. Reading from a script was fine. The props and costumes were nothing elaborate-- the idea is to encourage them to use their imaginations, just as they would do if they were actually reading the story.

You could have heard a pin drop during the entire performance: roughly an hour and a half!!
