Have you ever been the room mom for your childs class?

I've signed up to be a room mom this year but haven't heard anything further about it.

I'd love to do it! My mom always did it for me, and it's one thing that I've been looking forward to since becoming a mom.

Nope. 2 jobs and basically being a single parent (duty wise anyway) I've had to learn to say no to things. I go in and help out with the parties when they have them, and am a chaparone on field trips, but I keep it to that.

I was for Alexander when he was in K and 1st grade. I haven't been able to do it for 2nd or 3rd because I have Mia and just don't feel like I have the time any more. I attend all the parties. It was fun but so stressful, especially for 1st grade when I had nobody to help me.

We don't have room mothers. There are sign up sheets to help out at different events such as parties, library time, etc. at the beginning of the year.

I'm on the PTO and help out as much as possible. I'm also a 'nosy mom' who pops in and says hello to the teachers at the end of the day or in the mornings.
