Do you live from your GS'ers school?
We're about a 5-8 minute drive, depending on how long we sit at the exit of the subdivison trying to make a left - the road is insane!! I wish we lived walking distance!

If they were to go to public school, then we could walk. Unfortunately, their school is about 15 miles away, so about 25 to 30 minutes depending on traffic

About 15 minutes each way. I have to drive her since we opted out of the school she is supposed to go to due to failing test scores. They were supposed to provide a bus but they haven't.

.2 miles; 1 block (but it's across the street and there is an intersection that is busy)
I love it! We walk until it gets too cold (in the 30s).

A mile away...it's about a five minute drive as the speed limit is low and there are some lights. We can't walk because of the type of road it is off, although it would be close enough.

5-10 minute walk (depending on how fast/slow you walk) 30 second car ride. We're only like 2 streets over...a block or so. VERY close.

We live right down the street from our grade school. It is K-8 so i have 3 children that attend school there. My 8th grade daughter, 5th grade son, and 4th grade daughter. I always drive them to school in the mornings, although we are in walking distance. However, we will be moving soon and they will be riding the school bus.

Just under a mile. Lucas walks with his friends, I walk with Jaidyn, unless the weather is bad then I'll drive her (Lucas still insists in walking no matter what the weather is!)

We live out in the country, about 15 miles out of town. Takes about 20 minutes to get to the school from our house.

Our school district tried that too. You have to force the issue or they won't do it. It costs them money to bus kids to other schools and they don't want to spend it. They'll only do it if you force the issue. What I had to do was get our state's department of education people to email me a copy of the mandate that says they have to. Then I wrote a letter to the head of transportation stating that it is Ohio law that they transport my child and included the email from dept of ed lady. I called back a week later and they had him on the bus the following week. Well they bus him home. They wanted to pick him up at the front of our mobile home park (we live in the back) at 6:30am. Wouldn't be so bad if we had 2 vehicles and I could drive him. I'd be gone 5 minutes and could let Kayley sleep. However since we only have 1 vehicle and DH works 3rd shift, we have to drive him to school.
To answer the original question, we're about 10-15 minutes from the school he would be going to but are about 20 minutes from the one he does go to.

It's a 4-5 minute walk. So we walk I don't have a car, anyway Sometimes we cycle, but when baby #3 is born we will probably always walk, I find that easier

3 -5 minute walk possibly longer depends on the weather. The drive there is about the same depends on the weather.
During our walking there as I do a shortcut but during winter the shortcut is covered in ice so have to go longer route.

We live about a 10 min drive each way. I feel so sorry for older DD. Depending on when I work sometimes she has to walk to the bus stop which is about a mile from our house n its dark when she leaves the house in the morning
