gets enough sleep?

I don't think Lily does, she is always so grumpy and tired when she gets out of school. She goes to bed at 8:30 and gets up at 7:30. But I have the hardest time getting her bed by 8:30 I don't think I can get her to go to sleep any earlier, even though I know she is tired.

I think Brinlee does. She goes to bed at 8pm and gets up at 7am.

I think school can drain a lot of their energy, it's a lot of work and can be a long day. I don't know that she'd be less tired or grumpy at the end of the school day if she got another hour of sleep at night.

My boys do most of the time. They go to bed at 8:30pm and get up at 6:15am. I usually don't have any problem with them going to sleep at night. I can definitely tell if they didn't get enough sleep, they are grumpy and usually fall asleep in the car on the way home.

For the most part I think mine do. There's the odd time I wish they would get more, but they aren't too bad.

Absolutely. I'm pretty anal over sleep. My son goes to bed between 7:30 and 8:00 and gets up at 6:30 during the week (he's 10). Weekends he goes to bed between 7:00 and 8:00 and usually sleeps until 7:00 or 8:00 the following morning. His bedtimes do not change whether it's weekdays or weekends (unless we're doing something over the weekend) or if it's summer.

Yes. Jay needs more sleep, he has to be asleep by 9 to be up by 6:30 and function. Joe on the other hand is like his dad, he can be up till 11-12 and is fine at 6:30, even so S-T he has to be in bed by 9, lights off by 9:30.

I think so. Mine have their grumpy days regardless.

My older girls do most nights. Ellie doesn't but changing bedtime wouldn't make a difference. She just doesn't sleep well.

If we can tell they're tired after school we'll try and adjust the afternoon schedule and get them some down time. Some days are just like that no matter how much sleep they got the night before. Their school and other activities keep them very busy.

I'm sure Anna gets enough sleep. SHe, like me, doesn't seem to need much. As a child I went to bed by 10 and preferred to get up as early as possible, like 6 AM. I still get up at 6 AM (even when I don't have to ), and don't sleep before 12. I try to temper Anna a little lol, she's in bed by 9 and up at 6:30 usually.

My kids go to bed before 9pm. I usually start the routine at 8pm and have them sleeping before 9pm. Some days they have to get up at 6am and some days (when I work from home) I wake them up at 7am. So they get about 9-10 hours of sleep. They are always grumpy when they have to get up in the morning, but at night they are social butterflies and have way too much energy.

Maybe she needs a little cat nap when she gets home?

Amber gets enough, she is normally down at 8pm and up at 630/7

Kristy- do they have afternoon snack at school? If not she may just need a sugar boost. I know my munchkin gets tired and cranky if she goes more then 3 hours without a little snack

That sounds like a good amount of sleep to me. My son goes to bed at 8:30 and gets up at 7. On the weekends, we let him stay up till 10 or 11 and he is still awake between 7:30-8.

Jas goes to bed at about 7:30 but reads until 8pm. She is usually up at 6:30 in the morning. I think she gets enough sleep. She wakes on her own at that time so I guess that's a good indicator.
