Outrage After School Tells Mom Her Child

I don't blame the mom for being mad, I'd be livid! Replace my kids healthy lunch with chicken nuggets? I don't think so!!

WOW! I'd be livid! And to top it off...Chicken McNuggets! Are they crazy?! How do those meet the USDA requirements or even come close to qualifying as healthy? WOW! :O

Chicken nuggets meet the guidelines because the bread is a grain and the chicken is a meat. NOt healthy no, but they also consider french fries a vegetable, ketchup a vegetable, and flavored milk as healthy too. IMO school lunches are no better than eating lunch from a fast food joint.

I'd be LIVID if they replaced my son's lunch with school CRAP and then tried to charge me for it on top of that. I allow my son to buy his lunch 3-4 times a year max because I treat it as fast food and allow it about as often.

Glad it was taken care of and they were forced to apologize and see that mom's lunch met their guidelines anyway!

I had no idea they met the guidelines. Up here they aren't even made of meat. I guess everyone views "healthy" differently. I completely agree with the school lunches being no better than a fast food joint.

Video won't play for me, but from what's been posted I get the gist of it! Thankfully the Scottish Government don't allow schools to serve unhealthy junk food!

Interesting. They've changed rules here on what is "healthy" too. Not quite sure I'd call it healthy. Better than what it was but that's about it. They certainly don't need to be in a child's packed lunch!

I would be livid. I can see them saying something if the 4 year old came to school with all junk food, but there was nothing wrong what the mom packed. And like the mom said, she packed the lunch according to what the 4 year old would eat.

My dad told me about this and I seriously thought he was telling me a joke!
One of my girls is on a special diet for medical reasons. If anyone touched her lunch or told her she had to eat something else, I would be furious! Even if she wasn't on a special diet I'd be angry. No one gets to decide what my kids eat but me!
If they're really that concerned about kids eating a healthy lunch, they should be examining what the schools are preparing not what parents are bringing from home. It's the pot calling the kettle black.

All I can say is WOW! They would have a huge fight on their hands if they told my kid her lunch isn't good enough. This wouldn't happen here, as the schools don't provide any kind of lunch unless you pay for a pizza day ahead of time, but I would be furious!
