It hit me today that there are only 45 days left in this school year!!! Where did it go?! 45 days and 1 summer from now I will have a child in middle school, holy moly! Makes me feel kind of old haha!
Anyone else thinking about summer?? Just the few breaks we've had this year - Christmas, spring break - have made me realize we need something to occupy our days or we'll all be ready to kill each other after a week! I'm going to start looking into maybe swim lessons for the littler ones, maybe karate for the older two. I don't even know what sports they do over summer but honestly I don't think I could get my kids outside to play any sport over summer (it's HOT here). There are a couple splash parks close by so we'll hit those up a lot. Then I need lots of indoor activities for the really hot days that don't involve the tv, computer or video games!
Wow, I feel behind! I haven't booked up a thing. Most of the stuff I'm interested in hasn't put dates out yet though. I want to mainly take the summer off....I just want to send them to swim lessons, a VBS or two, and maybe an arts & craft camp. Just a few things to break up the summer.
Friday before Memorial day is the last. Don't know how many days that is. 22 maybe? Yikes!
I need to get my act together and get Ellie in some swim lessons. Older girls have swim team. Other than that, my brother's wedding is in June (we hope) so we'll be going to NC for a week or so. Then staying home and being lazy.
Yep, our school gets out in about 3 weeks. My son is going to my parent's in Nebraska (I'm in Arizona) for a week over the summer. Other than that he will be at home, but he goes outside and plays the majority of the day with his friends, despite the 125 degree heat. LOTS of hydration and sunblock...I think I need to buy stock in Gatorade and Bullfrog LoL.
My kiddos get out May 24th. My oldest son (he turns 14 the day they get out) is going to my parents for the summer. My 12 yr old DD is going to Washington, DC for 6 days with her Girl Scout troop to celebrate 100 years of Girl Scouts. During that week I plan to take my 11 and 5 year olds to the Pittsburgh zoo. My 16 year old doesn't want to go so she'll just stay home. We are also going camping sometime in July, but I have to wait to book that because DH doesn't know when he can take his vacation. We'll also be spending time at the swimming pool.
