Joe's field trip is just over a month away - it's an OVER NIGHT stay at Seaworld!!! In his almost 11 years of life he has only every been away from me maybe 5-6 nights and he was with his dad so it didn't really count! I'm sure he'll be fine, I just don't know if *I* will! There are no parent chaperones allowed, it's just teachers and seaworld staff. I'm feeling a little better because the 3 boys he's been having trouble with this year are trouble makers and have all had multiple referrals so they won't be allowed to attend the trip which is a sigh of relief for me but I'm still kind of panicked about it.

Yikes!!! No parents allowed would freak me out too! But an overnight at Seaworld!?!?! How cool is that! I'm sure he'll have a blast. Good luck to both of you!

When my 16 year old DD had a 3 night field trip to Williamsburg, VA in 5th grade I freaked because parents weren't allowed to go. It would just be the 3 5th grade teachers and several other school staff, but I felt comfortable sending her. And, she had a good time.

Mine (well, the 4 older ones) have all been to a 2 night/3 day camp in grade 5, so at age 10 (11 for Sunny as she is a year behind) then they do 3 nights/4 days in grade 6.

No parents allowed as its some occupational health and safety thing, if anything happens to the parents on the trip the school isnt covered.

They all had a blast.
