I find that to be odd. Just because it is kids day at the fair they have no school.

I kind of wish they had school. that just seems odd to have that day off.

Does your school close down for the local fairs?

Any fairs, festivals etc here are on the weekends so the kids are off anyway.

OUr fair isn't all that local (it's about 45 minutes from us), but it runs for 2-3 weeks (including over the weekends) and at night also so there's no day off from school for it.

Nope. The county fairs are in the summer while school is out anyway. Sometimes we take kids to the civil war reenactment that is during school, but not all the schools are off - its just a field trip.

Not here but I remember when I was little we had fair days off because our little podunk town, fair was the thing, everyone waited all year for that lol. It ran from Thursday to Sunday and between the livestock sales, 4-H competitions the school either shut down or ran with most of the kids gone because we were all somehow involved with the fair!

Not in our town, but the next county over does. I think they actually call it a teacher workday or something, but it always works out to be "kids day" at the fair.
