It's so tiring as I end up don't know and then he ends up with minus points as I thought he learned that when he did -10 points when he was late and didn't do it. He did the delay excuse going Your Not The Teacher and the Teacher said It's due Thurs. I'm like get it done now so you wouldn't worry if it is truly done by Thurs as teacher told me Unfinished work due by next day but of course he goes You think I'm lying.

Our house rule has always been homework done as soon as they get home. Jaidyn has a homework card with what has to be done every night, so that's pretty easy to follow and keep track of. The older three have homework diaries that they are meant to write what is due when in, but half the time they never do! They know if they haven't got it written in their diaries they do it the night they get it whether their teacher said a due date or not, if it's not written down it gets done ASAP.

It's hard when they throw the accusation card at you "You don't believe me", "You never believe me" etc etc. Does he have a homework diary? If not it's maybe worth getting him one and asking his teacher to sign it when homework is written in it. I can;t think of anything else, maybe someone else will have a more viable solution.

I agree with the above. We have the same thing and my thing with not believing him is that everyone misunderstands or gets confused. Our rule is, if there is not an email from the teacher or a written signed note from the teacher then anything he brings home is due the following day. If it turns out it's 2 days later, well then he's ahead of the game. All homework and/or unfinished classwork is done as soon as he gets home and is turned in the following day unless there is a signed note (or email) from the teacher.

Exactly same rule here. Unless something clearly states its not due the next day all homework must be done that night.

Breana just started Kindergarten and her homework is due by the end of the week.

She has to do it at least three times a week so I have her do it on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
