Had our parent/teacher conference with Jay's teacher yesterday and it was really good. I like his teacher a lot though, she's very good at communicating and just really easy to talk to. She said he was doing really good overall, he was right on track. He knew all his sight words so far and was reading well within the range for his grade. The only thing he's really struggling with is writing, she said he just struggles to get the work done as fast as the other kids. She said she notices, especially on days when they have a lot of writing to do, that he is constantly stopping to squeeze/pull his fingers. She doesn't think it's like an inability to do it as much as it just physically hurts him to do it. She said sometimes he will just give up after a while and not finish the work and she thinks it's just because of the discomfort although he never complains - but he never complains at home either. Except last night he was messing around and he bumped his hand and I could hear the finger snap and he let out a scream and it hurt so bad, I gave him some pain medicine and got it kind of back in place. But this just sucks. We see the surgeon again on Tuesday for a follow up and I think we're going to push doing the surgery because this is just stupid to have him suffering and in pain all the time.

Anyway, she spent every bit of 45 minutes with me and just told me about how he is in class and about what his favorite things were and how he behaved (which was good surprisingly lol) it was just nice!

That's GREAT!! So glad it was positive for everyone . We won't be having one. We can't make it as we're going to be gone and since he's changing teachers and I met with his current teacher and the principal the other day, that sufficed, so we just decided to skip this one. Will have one whenever the next one is (Spring I believe) with his new teacher.
