Does your GS'er have good homework habits? I mean are they willing to do it willingly or do they put up a fight?



I find with mine it's hit or miss, some days they will come home and promptly get to it so they can go play and other days the whining goes on for hours about having to do it.

It's a fight so Brendan will be staying after school to get caught up and get on the 3:00 bus.

He knows he doesn't have a choice in the matter, so this year has been great and he comes home, washes hands, eats a snack, and does his homework straight away. If he has time left over before needing to get a shower, eat dinner, and go to bed, then he is allowed free time. He's usually done with homework by 5:30 or so and has 30 minutes of free time before it's time to get in the shower (not his fault, his homework should take about 2 hours, so that's not him goofing off, it truly takes that long).

It gets done as soon as they all walk in the front door, even the High School lot know that the rule of this house is homework first before anything else, they've had that drummed into them from age 5, so it's second nature.
