I have no problems getting her to wear her school coat as it's part of her uniform, but when it comes to after school or non-school days it can be a battle if the sun is shining and she's convinced it's hot outside If we're going in the car she'll compromise with a hoodie, but I always make sure in the winter months that we take her thick coat, just in case.
It's not worth a battle. ds is very active, so of course he's warmer running around than I am standing still. I keep a hoodie in the car for him for emergencies and he still wears a small enough size that i can stuff it in my purse if he wants to take it off.
I get a few dirty looks from childless grad students and teenaged salesboys, but who cares?
Parker is pretty warm blooded, and lately he's still been wearing shorts to school! It's usually about 55-60 in the morning, and about 75 in the afternoon, so it's not that bad yet. He wears a zippered sweatshirt in the morning. I DO have to remind him to grab it, but he usually does without too much grief.
