What grade or age was you LO when they spent the night with someone other than family? What guidelines do you have?

A (3rd grade) was supposed to have her first sleepover on Friday night. She got scared when it was time to go to bed. DH and I tried to convince her to stay but it didn't work. I drove across town and picked her up. I didn't think to tell her to bring her stuffed animal with her which would have comforted her.

I've met the girl's parents a few times. Very nice. It helps I'm the little girl's teacher also. Lol. A, E, And V went to a birthday party at the friend's house last year so I know they don't smoke inside there house, or at all. They don't use profanity, at least none that I've heard and the kids don't talk like they've heard it, either.

My son hasn't yet only because he is autistic and can be unpredictable with other children.

The boys haven't had one yet, only because they haven't asked.

My boys haven't had one either yet as they have never asked. I would let them if they did ask though.
