Have you ever had anyone out side of your family watch your gradeschooler? How did you go about choosing a baby sitter?

No. I'd like to find a steady babysitter for the kids so we could get out a little more now that their getting older though. I've been thinking of putting in a call to the nanny agency I used to work for a few years back and set up to have someone come in twice a month for a few hours a time.

Is that an option for you? I know here, it's $8.50/hour for 2 so it wouldn't be THAT often. Other then that, there are a few websites that offer the same service. (kinda scares me, though) Or I know some parents who have taken out ads in the paper or posted bulletins at local daycares/churches. Good luck with the search.

I am a member of a babysitting Co-op with other mom' and we watch each others kids for free.

That's pretty cool. How did you find that group?

I wish they had something like that around here. I've never let any one but family watch the girls before, but my family lives a state away and my IL's are moving, so I'm going to be out of options as of tomorrow. I really don't want any strangers to watch them, I'd rather it be someone I know. But I don't really know anyone around here well enough to leave my kids with.

I've only had my friends watch Bailey a couple of times.. I usually have only family watch her. We don't go out that often!

Nope, the only people who've watched Jordon are family members.

no. we only ask my sister, my mom or his mom. when ever we want or need to go out somewhere. most of the time we take them with us.

we've only had family watch our kids. We do not go out very often without them, so a baby sitter isn't really an issue for us.

Our next door neighbor watches the kids occasionally for us. Thats the only person outside of family.
