I'm most concerned that it's somewhat balanced, but usually things go together well enough anyway.
I make a lot of simple barley side dishes, and use whole grain rice once a week or so, too. Oven roasted potatoes are popular around here too.

I can also make an awesome risotto, so that's another versatile option for us.
I do a lot of steamed vegetables, occasionally sauteed and sometimes I'll just do a salad.
It's all pretty standard fare but I try to find ways to make it fun or special, depending on what the rest of the meal is and what I have in the house.
