So I made the calzones for dinner tonight.
For the pizza dough: Instead of 2 tablespoons of molasses I put in 1 TBS plus 2 teaspoons of dark brown sugar. Also to help my yeast activate I put in a dash of sugar to the warm water. (I tried it without at first and it just sat there, I thought it was dead! So I made a new batch with the sugar and it foamed up nicely)
The pizza sauce is really easy to make, plus it really does freeze well. I used what I had frozen last week. I just pulled it out of the freezer and put it in the fridge last night. Yum!
The pizza dough made these calzones much tastier than the ones we had last week! I definately recommend trying it! Plus it yields alot of dough.....which means leftovers!!!
For DD's we put in ham, cheese, olives, and pizza sauce. Mine had ham, pepperoni, olives, mushrooms, onions, easy cheese, and tons of pizza sauce. DH's we did differently with ham, onions, blue cheese, italian cheese, and hot wing sauce.
DD's been on a hunger strike lately and she actually ate most of hers!
Here are the pics:
Monster Calzone! This was the biggest one made after making 3 seperate ones.
Monster Calzone cut open....this one was made hot wing style. Per DH's request.
