We're christians too, and we do the Santa. I mean, why wouldn't we? Santa originates from christian traditions, he's based on real person - Saint Nicholas, that was giving away his property to the poor.

However, we don't enter the "Santa madness", taking our children to the malls to sit with santa and the elves and all the stuff. We don't buy much gifts either - rather symbolic ones. So, we try to keep santa as least comercialized as possible.

My own daughter recently accused me of lying to her over the whole Santa issue!

But I still like the whole tradition!
