just wanted to post a hello! I'm new to this group. My name is Alethia, my son is Brandon (14 months) and my hubby is Brandon (27). I was diagnosed with Lupus in 2003. It's been hard to find support groups for Lupus in AZ - so i thought since I'm on JM might as well join this group too - since you ladies are going through similar issues.
Location: NYC born and raised. Now stationed in Savannah, Ga HAAF!
i wanted to say i am michelle, 25, and i was diagnosed with systemic lupus the beginning of this pregnancy. it has been a rough road but i am in remission, at least according to my rheumy so i am happy about that.
i also have raynaud's and fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis as complement disorders to the lupus. the only one bothering me lately is the raynaud's because i am in the northeast (pa this week and then nyc next week) visiting family and it is mighty cold up here. it is nice to meet some other ladies with lupus on this board!
great to meet you! It's nice to know someone my age with Lupus - although i wish you didn't have it. I live in AZ but we've been having crazy weather so i've been feeling it too. i can understand your ach's! We actually moved to AZ in part because of my SLE, and it def has helped. I've never heard of raynaud's before? do you mind me asking what it is? Thanks for the welcome! I'm glad to hear you're in remission! wahoo! After having a baby they say it can make your Lupus better or worse - for me it made it better - i've only had one flare in the last almost 15 months. But with the weather and having a little one the arthritis part can be hard to deal with. I hope you're feeling better soon!
Its great to meet you. My apologies for being MIA, I am the host here on the AID board. Its been busy busy lately with the holidays. My name is Sara, I have Ankylosing Spondylitis, a degenerative autoimmune disorder that mainly effects the spine and some peripheral joints. It is similar to RA, but can cause fusion of joints and your spine
We have quite a few girls on here that have Lupus. Hopefully you can find the support you need. The group has been slow lately but I really hope we can get it going again. Hope to get to know you!
