Hi,

I'm new to this board, not new to JM though. I'm just popping in with a question. I have had Crohn's for many many years. I actually went into remission with my 1st pregnancy (part of that 1/3 that get better!) and have been in remission ever since. I'm currently pregnant with my second and have been perfect so far but I'm starting to notice some symptoms that may or may not be a relapse. I was just wondering if any of you have anything to share on this. Do we know what the likely chances are of relapsing so late in the pregnancy? Could it just be diet and hormones? I'm freaking a bit as I have really gotten used to not being sick for so long and am scared to death of it coming back....

Thanks!

Have you been under allot of stress or feeling stressed about the upcoming birth? adding to your family and what your older child might feel like?

Anything is possible, but I know stress is trigger for allot of autoimmune diseases and bowel/intestinal related diseases as well.

I have Crohn's, but I'm sorry I don't have anything to share. My pregnancy went like your first one. But I wish you luck, I hope the symptoms are just temporary!

Oh, I'm really quite relaxed. I have started being a bit more careful with what I'm eating and it seems to be helping...I guess all I can really do is wait and see and keep everything crossed that I stay in remission!

That's fantastic, I'm glad that it seems to be calming down with dietary changes. I can definitely relate to that as well, my bowel and digestive issues are way better when I pay closer attention to what I eat... especially making everything from scratch I can control everything that goes in it. I have UC.

Ya, it doesn't take much to knock things out of whack...I also make pretty much everything from scratch, it's a bit more work but so much easier to control what you're actually ingesting.

I saw my OB today, he basically said that there are some mega hormonal changes going on right now (36 weeks) so just to take it in stride and wait and see...

I'm glad to hear your OB gave you some answers even tho you already knew intuitively what was going on. I really hope it doesn't give you much problems :fingers crossed:

BTW in advance on the upcoming birth
