I am new to this board and wondering if anyone has experience with Insulin Dependent diabetes and Addison's disease. I've been diabetic for 20 years (and had a successful pregnancy and have an adorable 7 year old boy!) and was only diagnosed with Addison's a week ago.
Feeling a little scared and apprehensive.. and also wondering if I might ever be able to have another pregnancy.. any info would be welcomed
I don't have diabetes, but I do have Addison's Disease. Not very often I come across anyone that has it, especially on boards like this. I was diagnosed about 6 years ago. What meds are you on, if you don't mind me asking?
You should be able to carry a pregnancy, if you are able to get pregnant. I haven't been able to get pregnant at all since I was diagnosed, and had many miscarriages before that. I've known of people with AD that have had multiple successful pregnancies, though, so it is possible. My body just sucks. I have many issues on top of the AD that all play together.
If you have any questions about AD, feel free to ask. Sorry you have to deal with this, I hate it and I think it sucks, but for some people it isn't so bad.
