I had to be induced on Wednesday Dec 29, 2010 because of who knows what. The docs aren't saying exactly what it was. I'm assuming pre-eclampsia because my liver was failing, my kidneys were failing and my platelets were low enough to need transfusions. The doc kept saying from the lupus but they were unable to explain what really happened so no real answers. So my daughter, Sara, was born at 7:40 pm 12/29/10 weighing 8 oz and 8 1/2 inches long. She was a cute little thing! After a week long stay in the hospital I have finally been able to come home.
So now I get to be treated again for the lupus. Which means, high dose steroids and Imuran in my case. I'm hoping for a quick remission again as the last time it took them 6 years to get the right combination of drugs.
Unfortunately, my maternal fetal specialist said absolutely no more kids for me. And after being that sick, I am going to agree with her....for at least a little while! I'd like to be around for my boys for a long time.
