I am curious as to what everyone else uses for the treatment of their auto-immune disease. I am diagnosed with RA. Currently I take Plaquenil, but it has not been working as well as it used to, so I am expecting that to be changed at my June appointment (unless I am pregnant by then) I take naproxen at least a few time a week to try to keep down swelling. I usually end up on a dose pack of steroids a few time a year as well when my swelling gets too extreme.

I would like to start looking into some alternative therapies, especially nutrition based ones. I am reading the anti-inflamatoion diet and want to discuss that with the doctor as well.

I'be been on Humira for Crohn's disease for four years, through two pregnancies, and it works wonders. It is the only drug that has kept me in remission this long. The only time I had a problem wad when I Forgot a dose; I went four weeks between instead of two. So i know if i go off I'm in trouble.

It is prescribed for RA too, so if you haven't looked in to it yet, ask your doctor.
