I have missed emotions...because I am scared crapless to start my MS therapy.....

BUT.........................

I JUST recieved a phone call from the copaxone assistance program and they have approved me $335 a month for the co-payment of monthly copaxone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The actual cost of the Copaxone (with my 80/20 insurance plan) is $334.11 and the price will flucuate some...but I will still recieve this help for the next 12 monthes. After that I will need to be re-approved. So if one month the Copaxone cost $340...I will have to pay $5 of it. This is such an EXPENSIVE drug...I mean total cost is between $1500-$3000 a month...I couldnt pay that, let alone my co-payment. I am just so happy....maybe I will start feling better, get my memory going again....I just have so many hopes for this to help my over all, everything.

This is such great news...and coming at a time when I need it the most!

Oh I forgot...I am suppose to be getting a phone call either Thursday or Friday...they will explain what I need to do to start getting my Copaxone in the mail(because it needs to stay in the frig)...after that I believe either someone from shared solutions or a nurse from the office is suppose to come to my home and instruct me on how to give myself injections. I have seen the DVD's all about it...but it's NOT the same. Thats my biggest nervous part with starting this...giving myself injections, dailey.

BUT,this is suppose to SLOW down the progression of MS. I hear that eventually MS will progress, even with these injections...but it slows things down. At 27yrs old I am ALL for SLWING down this darn disease!!!

It's just exciting because I was dx in August and this is the closest thing to treatment I have had for my MS...I just want to feel better. I have heard it can take like two years...two years is nothing compared to the alternative!!!

Oh wow! That is such great news!!! I have an injection that has to stay in the fridge, too, and I get it through the mail order pharmacy. They just ship it to me in a little cooler type thing, and it's packed in ice. Once I get it, I just stick it in the fridge. It won't be a big deal.

I'm so glad you were able to get approved. My med is about $3000 a month, too, and I pay a $15 co-pay for it. I was so glad for that!!! The shots really aren;t bad, once you get used to doing it.
