I'm graduating tomorrow which I am happy about. But the one person I really wanted to attend can't, that's my Dad. He's back in the hospital for at least a week or two. It took me forever to graduate from college, I started going in 1989-Yikes. My Dad always supported me, told me I'd graduate one day. I took a lot of time off in between semesters.
My Mom and my husband and kids are going, but it won't be the same. I'm going to go and see my Dad in the hospital after graduation. I just wish I hadn't taken so long to get myself organized and focused on education. My Dad told me he's so sorry he can't make it.
I know I should be happy I'm graduating, my Dad is still living and everything. I guess it's PMS or something, but I really wish he could be there. I just needed to get that off my chest.
First,I want to tell you CONGRATULATIONS!!! What a huge accomplishment! Tomorrow will be a big day for you,so dont forget to enjoy yourself, and be proud!!
Are you able to video tape your graduation? Lots of hospitals have tv/vcr's they stroll around to different floors or rooms. Maybe you can watch the graduation WITH your Dad afterward. Of course,it's not the same...but you'll be together and I'm sure your Dad would be thrilled
Let us know how graduation goes,I'll be thinking about ya

Aw, sweetie, I'm so excited for your graduation. I wish your dad could have been there for you. I know he is proud of you.
How is he doing??[/b]
He's still in the hospital. He has prostate cancer, he's 80 years old. So his doctors don't do anything aggressive to treat it. They keep mentioning quality of life, over quantity of life. He fell out of bed in the hospital the other night, so he's kind of banged up right now. I just hate seeing him looking so vulnerable. I really hope he gets out soon.
