HI! My name's Rebekah (I'm 35). I've tested positive for ANA and Anti-cardial lipan antibodies in the past. My question is my DH and I would like to have another kid (but I've only had 3 kids out of the last 7 pregnancies)-- did any of you have these antibodies while you were pg and what did you do to have a healthy baby? I'm very worried - my last pg was the longest of all of them at 35 wks but I spent more time in the hospital or on bedrest than not. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
Hi Rebekah and welcome to the AI forum. Wow, you've gone through a lot trying to have babies. My only suggestion would be to see a high risk pregnancy OB doctor. After my 2nd was born and they found out I had Lupus, they suggested to me that I not try to have another one because I was so, so sick with both of my pregnancies and the eclampsia during both pregnancies could have killed me. They really didn't want me to risk a third one. They didn't know I had Lupus when I was pg, or they might have done some things differently.
Good luck, and again welcome!
Oh, and by the way, I'm Janetta from Texas. Mom to Austin, 14, and Emily, 12. I have Lupus and Spondyloarthropathy, and Graves Disease and Sjogrens.
Hang around, and get to know us. And there is no such thing as TMI on our forum here!!
Hi there and welcome to AI. I wish I knew a little about it but I don't. I am another mom who was told that having another child after my last was not a good idea. I agree with J about talking to a OB who specializes in high risk preg.
