i know this forum says that it is for systemic lupus but I was wondering if there was anyone here that is farmilar or has lupus of the skin?? I was told yesterday that this is a possible diagnosis for me. I have to have a biopsy (again) to confirm it but I was wanting to chat with someone with this disease in the meantime. thanks in advance

Hi Kelly and welcome! I'm Janetta from Texas. Mom to Austin and Emily.
I have systemic Lupus, not discoid Lupus, so I can't help you a whole lot. But I just wanted to let you know we are all here for you if you need to chat with someone. Autoimmune disease are so similar and have so many similar charateristics, and I think the two types of Lupus have *some* of the similar characteristics.
Feel free to PM me if you like.
Take care and feel free to post any questions you may have here. Looking forward to getting to know you!
My AI disease is celiac sprue and Lupus is often together with it. I was getting worried awhile back thinking I had Lupus because of skin reactions. Turns out I am instead allergic to the sun, so are other family members. Its called PMLE and it is an auto-immune reaction to UV rays. If I sunscreen it doesn't happen. My entire body is AI so why not to the sun.
