I was diagnosed with this last year ...... and am currently researching different medication options but they all seem so scary! Anyone have any experience with different RA meds?

My daughter has JRA . She was on naproxsen and methotrexate. (not sure on the spelling of those)Naproxsen is hard on your stomach and can cause facial scars. Methotrexate is actually a cancer drug. They did work for her but I wouldn't want to be on them for a long time. You usually have to have blood work every 6 weeks with these to or at least she did . They can affect your liver and other things to I guess. That is the experince we had with these anyway. She is in unmedicated remission at this time which I'm so glad about she is 3 turning 4 and was diagnoised before she was 2. Are you on any medicine now?

I just got diagnosed with OA. Osteoarthritis and I did some research. Fish oil is a great anti-inflammatory, and I am going to try it myself. I hear it is really good for RA also. Apparently a few grams of fish oil is just as good, or better than NIADS (drugs). I think you should do some research, and talk to a naturopathic, Dr, pharmasist or health store employee. You can get purified (non mercury) fish oil.

I have RA and I haven't been on meds in years. I was on vioxx back in the day but stopped that. I just deal with the pain unfortunately. Medicine can be scary because of the side affects and all that. I hope you find something that works for you!
