to keep their rooms clean? Or do you just shut the door and let them live how they want?

I have nightmares about this.
My horrible horrible children are pigs
Sad but true. And they get it from their father who is the slob king.

And I hand out sever punishments..

Today in one such day,

Elenor and Eloras room trashed, clean laundry not put away
Erika and Eliza's room trashed and clean laundry not put away

Emilys room two weeks of laundry not put away and trash everywhere,

I was down stairs this morning cleaning out a closet that has the winter coats in it and well I could have cried.

Pass the prozac

Lately I have been requiring her to keep it clean but it's a new thing it hasn't always been that way. Getting her to bring her dirty laundry to the laundry room though............well I've told her 6 days in a row now so today when she gets home she gets the ultimate threat......BRING ME THE LAUNDRY OR YOUR CELL PHONE IS MINE FOR THE WK. I'll get my dirty laundry today LOL.

I generally let them have it the way they want it as long as there is a CLEAR PATH. And no dirty clothes or dishes of any type EXCEPT their water bottles.

I don't require mine to keep them clean. If they want to live in filth, let em. I can close the door.

Yes.

Spotless no - but not filthy. Their bedrooms are part of their everyday routine and everyday chores. They don't get their computer privelages or anything else until their daily chores are done - and this includes their rooms. I'm not ultra strict about how perfect it is - but I personally - feel much more inclined to visit them in their rooms when they are clean.
