Who's getting it, already gotten it, who's not getting it at all??

I never do flu shots but was required to get the seasonal for all of us this year because of Elliot's weakened immune system from chemo. I spoke to a nurse yesterday who said they are recommending the H1N1 as well. I am pretty sure that when I take him to clinic this upcoming week I will be told we have to get it. I am really nervous about getting this one, much more nervous than I was with the seasonal one but I feel like we have to do it. This sucks!!

I am getting it tomorrow at work

If I don't I can't work there.

Course. . . . .
I will be for the next two months working at a vaccination center as housekeeping (extension of hospital work.)

My kids will be getting it in a week or two. They are not high risk just yet so they have to wait their turns

I am nervous about it because it has not been around long. I know a few people who have had H1N1 since this whole outbreak and their symptoms were not that bad and they all recovered without hospitalization.

wow, it's crazy that she came down with that (dystonia) 10 days after the seasonal flu shot but I am not convinced that it came from the flu shot. it might be possible that the shot triggered it, but I would think she had to have some predisposition to it first. I read up on it a little and it's a crazy, rare condition that happens at any time in a persons life.

this flu shot is new. I am not worried. I get the shot every year. If it where to have adverse affects on me it would have happened years ago.

Get the shot. Save yourself. Do not buy into media hysteria.

Media asside. Insiders doctor and who all say if this hits the way they think it might, it will take down 35% of the population. that means 35000 dead people for every million.
My boss the hospital coordinator says that means we will have to work 12 hour shifts. Unless of course we are among that 35% lol

even with that knowledge I am not panicing. I still have greater odds dying in a traffic accident. But I am getting the shot. Why worry.

3 of the 5 of us got the shot this morning. I will take Trevor back after school today to get his. Addison has to wait 2 weeks because she is on Prednisone and the doctor wants her off for two weeks first. I sweet talked our nurse into saving her a dose though

I signed my 15 year old up to get it at her school. Of course her school of 800 has received 50 doses so far.

I signed both school age kids up for it at school but so far they have not been vaccinated.

My oldest is now sick with the flu.
