Ok, this is new territory for me. Kinda scary. lol

My almost 10 yr old, is quite "developed" and has some pubic hair. She is lately having some super huge mood swings. Complete with yelling, crying etc. And these are MAJOR mood swings. Not childish fits.
For those who have been there, is this a sign of puberty? Any other signs i should look for?

We recently had the "period" chat. So she is prepared for that. Don't know what else i should be doing....

My eldest got her period at 10

now is a good time to tell her about how she can touch herself but nobody else can. Boys can usually sniff out a young um.... woman. So can pedofiles. So its always best she is aware of this sort of thing with out of course scaring her.

I would say that she is probably going to start her period soon. My bf's daughter is 9 and she is starting the same things I keep telling my bf that his daughter is going to start her period soon. The mood swings are a total give away. So definately be prepared. Its good to hear that you have already had the period talk with her because it is probably going to start soon.

Yeah, period is the most obvious thing that will show up soon. Have her wear a little panty liner in her underwear just in case it occurs, and maybe put a pad in her backpack in case the event happens in school. (No one wants that disaster!) Any growing interest in boys might be a sign too. And I agree with the person who said to keep an eye out for older boys, especially if your daughter looks more like a teenager already. Even a nice older boy might mistake her for his age, and that's probably not something she's ready for

Buy ear plugs and winter weather-stripping for her bedroom door jam so she can't slam her door with as much loud gusto

Definately, puberty.

Tramom09 offered some good advice. The pantyliner advice priceless because a sudden "event" can be very embarrassing at ANY age.

And be careful not to give into temptations to let her look older than her age.

When I saw my 10 year old step-daughter (who has also hit puberty) in her drill team uniform and makeup she looked closer to 16 than 10 and that scary...
