Do you have any pets in your family? If so, does your preteen/teen share in any of the responsibility of taking care of them?

We have 3 (will be 4 tomorrow) cats. Greyson feeds them before he goes to school in the morning, but otherwise I do the rest of the care for them.

As for the "will be 4 tomorrow"...we recently adopted 2 sibling cats from a rescue. I just convinced DH to let us adopt the 3rd sibling of the group, so he's coming to stay with us tomorrow. We have Nora, Thomas, Walter, and _______?? I like Angus. Hopefully he seems like an Angus. lol Nora is a grey tuxedo, Thomas is a white and black harlequin, Walter is a white and tabby harlequin, and "Angus" is a white and orange harlequin.

We have one kitty named, Troy, who happens to look a lot like if not identical to Thomas. lol T takes hand in feeding him, brushing him and cleaning out his litter box. She barely brushes the poor thing though and forgets about the daily scooping. DOH! But I don't really get on her over that.

@kara_leigh, They are all so beautiful!

We have two cats and one dog, and all of our kids share the responsibility of caring for them. They take turns walking our dog, feeding all of them and cleaning and refilling their water bowls. Mommy gets the fun job of cleaning the litter box, but that's okay!

Thanks!! We think so too!

We tried it out, and decided that the orange and white kitty just wasn't going to work out. He and our grey cat Nora didn't get along at all and he didn't remember his brothers at all. It was just causing a bunch of stress b/c he wasn't getting along with any of them, and then he started peeing outside of our litterbox, marking anything that Nora used to/does sleep on. The rescue (and DH and I) decided that it would be best to return him to the foster mom asap. We took him back today. Already by the time we got back home the tension was completely gone. I think we made the right choice.
